Travel and Accommodations

Mexico City is a metropolitan and sophisticated city. While getting around can be a challenge because of traffic, it is still an incredible city to explore by foot or a few short car rides. We recommend the following neighborhoods to set your home base from: Condesa, Roma Norte, Juarez or if you want to stay in a bigger brand hotel we recommend Reforma (very close to the venue) or Polanco. Some ideas on travel, getting around and places to stay below.

Travel Note

Mexico City's transportation

Mexico City traffic is notorious. Always plan ahead and allow plenty of time when commuting, especially during rush hours 6am-10am & 4-9pm. We DO NOT recommend renting a car. Take Uber or Cabify or ride the Metro instead.

Travel Note

Taxis

We do not recommend hailing taxis from the street. Instead you can take "taxis de sitio" which are a group of taxis parked on a street or corner waiting for customers. We recommend to take a car from Uber or Cabify. The Uber app works exactly as in the US. Another option is to call Taximex and have a car pick you up wherever you are. Se habla español. Call: +52 (55) 5634-9912

Train

Metro

Around 5.5 million people ride the metro every day in Mexico City. It’s safe but keep your eyes open at all times for any strange behavior as you would do it in any other big city. We do not recommend taking the metro at rush hour in the morning and/or evening. Please check the link for details about tickets, routes and any useful information.

Flight

From Airport to Hotel

We recommend taking an Uber or an authorized taxi into the city. -Uber or Cabify: Order your car and meet at the departure area. - Cab: For authorized taxis you will see signs pointing to the desks where you pre-pay your fare by zone. Once you have paid and received your coupon you’ll be directed to the departure area.

Travel Note

Visa & Passport

Don’t forget your passport! American, European and Peruvian citizens don’t need a Visa to come to the wedding :)

Travel Note

Currency

Mexican peso fluctuates around: $1 US Dollar = $18.50 MX Peso $1 EUR = $22.70 MX Peso We use XE Currency app for traveling to different countries and recommend you downloading it. The app provides all currencies around the world and live exchanges rates and charts.
