FAQs

The Wedding Website of Tati Barrantes and Pedro Gomez Millan
Here are some basic FAQ's but please feel free to write or call us with ANYTHING! <3
Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

We love your kids - we really do. We want you to bring them with you to Mexico City but we want our wedding to be your night off! If you’re bringing the fam and need a suggestion for a babysitter let us know.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation says "and Guest" then yes, if not, we would prefer if it was just you. Lets talk if you are feeling strongly about this one!

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

Unfortunately there's no shuttle from hotels to the ceremony since all of you will be staying around the city in various places. We highly recommend that you take an Uber or official taxi to the ceremony and back. The parking situation at Zocalo is incredibly challenging and not ideal for a late night. There be NO Valet provided but we will have security help escort people to an Uber/Taxi pick up and drop off point.

Question

What neighborhood should we stay in?

Answer

We recommend you stay in the La Condesa, Roma Norte, or Reforma. Also, if you would like to be in the Centro Historico (where the ceremony is) we can help point you to some nice hotels there. Please take a look at the Travel and Accommodations section.

Question

Will my phone work?

Answer

ATT has been amazing for us because it allows us to keep our current bill while expanding unlimited data and service to Mexico and Canada. Check with your provider!

Question

Where can I buy gifts and crafts?

Answer

We are updating the "Things to Do" Section but recommend La Ciudadela near the Centro Historico for traditional crafts and gifts. Tati has been hours here.

Question

Should we bring gifts?

Answer

We are so grateful that you are able to make it and celebrate with us and we understand the challenge both financial and schedule wise to come to Mexico City. Please don't worry about bringing gifts! We have a registry on this website if you are so inclined to help us begin our home together and plan our honeymoon. However, we do not expect this and are thrilled you can see this incredible city. :)

Question

Will I be safe?

Answer

Mexico City is a cosmopolitan and international city. Like such cities, be mindful of your surroundings, particularly at night. Centro Historico can become very crowded so keep your belongings close and covered. Zipped bags recommended! While violent and non violent crime does happen here, it has been rare in our circles but that doesn't mean you should not remain vigilant. Be a good traveler by respecting the people and places you are visiting and they will respect you.

Question

We want to make a real vacation out of this wedding. Where should we visit before and after?

Answer

AMAZING! We love that you want to do this and have many suggestions. Day trips could include the Pyramids and the Canals. Overnight trips could include Puebla, San Miguel de Allende and Valle de Bravo. Quick, cheap flights away include Chiapas, Oaxaca, and Puerto Vallarta. Feel free to connect if you need any help choosing!

Question

Will I get sick AKA Moctezuma's Revenge?

Answer

We recommend bringing Pepto Bismol (although it is possible buy in the city) and maybe even Cipro or a quick acting antibiotic in case you get struck with a bad case of traveler's illness. Most restaurants serve filtered water and will wash vegetables with filtered water, but sometimes you can catch something no matter where you are. Try and avoid deep fried foods or lettuces / cut fruit from questionable places. Like one of our favorite traveler's, Anthony Bourdain (RIP) said, "If its a busy restaurant with lots of folks coming and going and its' not fish in the middle of a desert, you usually should be okay."

Question

What's the weather like in late October?

Answer

We will just be coming out of the rainy season but with global warming you never know what you're going to get. Mexico City is not a hot place like the coasts. We are high in altitude (be aware of some slight altitude sickness that can come with that!) and with that it can be cool in the evenings and mornings. Bring layers and a warmer jacket so you won't be freezing like Tati always is.
