Marcus & Pearl don't recall officially meeting, they were just always around each other. They grew up in the same church, took the same ballroom classes, and shared a mutual connection: Marcus's sister and one of Pearl's childhood friends (shoutout Sammie). Marcus and Pearl became friends as they got older, but the relationship shifted after an 8 hour car ride down to Brevard, North Carolina in 2023 to work at summer camp. That's when they discovered how much they really enjoyed talking with each other. Marcus & Pearl went out for the first time that December (over Christmas break) and became official in February 2024. They dated long distance, traveling many miles to see each other throughout the course of their dating relationship, and then Marcus flew in from Florida to propose on April 17th, 2025. She said yes under the Natural Bridge in Virginia.
