5:00 pm - 5:30 pm
Attire: Think Garden Party! Fun hats are welcomed and highly encouraged! Cocktail dresses in fun colors or flowy sundresses are perfect, and men can go with slacks and a button-down, a jacket, or even a suit in lighter hues. Wear what feels festive and comfortable in the mountains — just one rule: no white, please.
This event is for our wedding party and immediate family. It’s a chance to make sure everyone knows their part and to spend a little time together before the celebrations begin.

All guests are invited to the rehearsal dinner and welcome party — the more the merrier! Join us under the pavilion for a relaxed and festive evening. We’ll have music, mingling, and delicious Chinese food catered by May Palace in Durango, with a variety of dishes to suit all tastes — including vegetarian options. To toast the start of the celebration, we’ll have local craft beer, a signature cocktail (Colorado Mule: vodka, ginger beer, and lime), and non-alcoholic drinks like sweet tea, iced tea, sparkling water, and lemonade.
5:00 pm - 5:30 pm
Attire: We’re asking guests to wear black—please, no white! This isn't black tie so there's no need for formal gowns or tuxedos. Wedding theme is Western Chic. Cowboy boots and hats are encouraged. Think stylish and comfortable in black: sundresses, cocktail dresses, slacks, button-down suits or light jackets. Aim for an elegant yet relaxed look that’s perfectly suited to the Colorado mountains.
The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:00 PM. We kindly ask all guests to be seated by 4:45 PM so we can start on time. To honor this special moment, we are requesting an unplugged ceremony—please refrain from using phones or taking photos in any capacity. We look forward to sharing our vows with the loved ones who mean the most to us.
5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
After the ceremony, relax and enjoy cocktails and charcuterie with friends and family while the wedding party takes photos. Two adorable San Juan Beverage Burros will be joining the fun, serving drinks straight from their baskets as you mingle, snack, and take in the mountain views. Don’t forget to grab a drink, snap a photo, and say hello to our furry little servers!
6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Our wedding dinner is a nod to Payton’s Texas roots! We’ll be serving pulled pork, smoked brisket, BBQ chicken, and veggie skewers, plus cornbread, baked beans, corn on the cob, and mac & cheese. Drinks include local craft beer, red and white wine, and non-alcoholic options. For dessert, enjoy small treats from the famous Jean Pierre Bakery. Lizzy, Sara’s maid of honor, made the wedding cake! It’s a small cake, so it will be first come, first serve. While you enjoy dinner, we’ll have live music by the local Durango band, HorseShirt. Payton and Sara have spent many Friday nights at Cliffside in the Lodge at Tamarron enjoying their music, and wanted to share that with all of you! HorseShirt plays a mix of Americana, folk, and bluegrass, full of humor and storytelling. We’ll take a short break for speeches and first dances then HorseShirt will return to play the rest of their set while you finish your meal and continue to enjoy the evening.
8:30 pm - 11:00 pm
After dinner and first dances, the celebration continues with dancing, drinks, and late-night fun! The music will be a curated playlist, hand-picked by Sara’s brother Ben, who always knows the moves and the grooves. Grab a partner, hit the dance floor, or just sway along and show off your moves!
Sat, Aug 8, 2026, 11:00 pm - Sun, Aug 9, 2026, 12:00 am
As the evening winds down, keep the celebration going with some fun and light! We’ll have glow sticks, LED balloons, and sparklers for everyone to enjoy. Whether you’re dancing under the stars, taking photos, or just relaxing with friends, it’s a perfect way to end the night with a little sparkle.
10:00 am - 11:30 am
Let’s keep the celebration going one last time! Join us under the pavilion for a relaxed Sunday brunch where we can reminisce about the wedding, share laughs, and enjoy some delicious food together. Think casual, cozy vibes — coffee, pastries, breakfast burritos, and mimosas for those who want to toast one last time. It’s the perfect way to say goodbye and send everyone off with full hearts and full bellies.
