Texas Renaissance Festival

Wander the 16th-century-style village, catch a show, grab a drink, and soak up the festive, anything-goes atmosphere. Costumes encouraged but not required—just come ready for a good time!

The Woodlands Waterway

Just north of Houston in The Woodlands, this scenic 1.8‑mile linear park along the water links shopping, dining, trails and outdoor art. Payton and Jules have spent many mornings walking here with coffee in hand (highly recommend Blue Door Coffee!), soaking in the calm waters and city‑meets‑nature vibe.

Houston Museum of Natural Science

Get ready to nerd out! From massive dinosaur skeletons and sparkling gems to a walk-through rainforest filled with butterflies, the Houston Museum of Natural Science makes learning fun. Pop into the planetarium for a trip through the stars, then wander the leafy Museum District. It’s a perfect mix of science, wonder, and a little adventure.

The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston

Step into one of the country’s largest art museums, where centuries of creativity come to life. From ancient sculptures to modern masterpieces - and even an underground tunnel that glows with color - the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, is full of surprises. Houston Zoo

The Houston Zoo is home to thousands of animals from around the world, all set within the lush greenery of Hermann Park. You can feed a giraffe, stroll through the tropical bird habitat, or just enjoy a laid-back walk under the oak trees. It’s the perfect spot for a fun daytime adventure (and some cute photo ops).

Memorial Park

Just west of downtown Houston, Memorial Park spans over 1,400 acres and offers a lush escape with 30 miles of trails, dense woodlands and forested terrain. Whether you’re in the mood for a brisk walk, a casual run, a picnic or simply some green space to breathe, it’s a refreshing stop during your visit.

Hermann Park

Nestled in the heart of Houston, Hermann Park is a 445‑acre oasis of live oaks, McGovern Lake, and tranquil gardens, a timeless backdrop for a stroll or quiet reflection. Fun fact: it’s where Jules & Payton got engaged, so it holds a little extra magic for our wedding weekend. Whether you want to visit that special spot or simply soak up the greenery, it’s a lovely pause in the city.

ARTECHOUSE Houston

Dive into an immersive world where art and technology collide at ARTECHOUSE Houston in The Heights. Spanning 26,000 sq ft near the trail, this digital art space features sweeping projection installations, interactive galleries and an XR bar with themed cocktails, perfect for a unique outing.

Meow Wolf Houston's Radio Tave

Step into a world of art, mystery, and adventure at Meow Wolf Houston! Start in a seemingly ordinary radio station before exploring “Radio Tave,” a labyrinth of interactive rooms, portals, and vibrant installations. Perfect for curious minds, playful exploration, and unforgettable photo ops, a truly one-of-a-kind Houston experience.

Space Center Houston

Explore the wonders of space at Houston’s official visitor center for NASA’s Johnson Space Center, and a place close to Jules’ heart! It’s out of this world, literally!

Buc-ee's

A true Texas‑road‑trip legend and a must‑stop during your visit. One of Jules’ favorite places to bring folks from outside of Texas! Inside you’ll find everything from fresh coffee and barbecue to giant snack aisles. Don’t miss the famous wall of jerky, complete with dozens of flavorful varieties you can buy by the pound.

McIntyre's Webster

McIntyre’s in Webster is one of Jules’ and Payton’s favorite spots to hang out with friends. It’s a fun, relaxed bar with great food and drinks, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, lawn games, and huge screens that make it perfect for catching a game. A great place to unwind and enjoy the vibe while you’re in town!

HTeaO - Webster

One of Jules and Payton’s go‑to spots for a refreshingly good drink! With 20‑plus freshly brewed sweet (and unsweet) tea flavors (and coffee options too), HTeaO delivers a flavorful, local‑favorite pick‑me‑up in the Houston area!

Swig

A fun stop for something a little different. Swig specializes in “dirty sodas,” where classic sodas are elevated with flavored syrups, creams, and fruit add‑ins. Whether you go bold or keep it simple, it’s a tasty treat for a casual pick‑me‑up during your stay.
