Travel & Accommodations

The Wedding Website of Philip Dierking and Natalie Pavela
Don't forget to pack your passport! Summer is a very popular time to visit Vancouver and tourism is expected to increase with the city hosting FIFA matches in June and early July. Lodging can book up quickly and pricing can be dependent on inventory. We encourage you to secure your preferred accommodations early to ensure the best rate and availability.

Travel Note

Getting to Vancouver

Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is the closest airport. Downtown Vancouver is a short car ride away, ~30 minutes. UBER and LYFT access is plentiful in the city, so unless you plan to get up to the mountains or out to the islands during your visit, you can likely get around with cabs vs. renting a car. If you're interested in exploring more of the northwest, the closest US airports are Paine Field (PAE), ~2 hour drive from Vancouver (give or take with the border crossing) and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), ~3 hour drive from Vancouver. If you're interested in train travel, the Amtrak Cascades (www.amtrakcascades.com) runs a scenic route between Portland, Seattle, and Vancouver, B.C.

Travel Note

Airbnb & Vrbo

If you prefer a more homey or group-style stay, there are some great Airbnb and Vrbo options nearby. Please note: rental property supply is limited in Vancouver due to provincial legislation and city bylaws, so early booking is encouraged. We'd recommend checking out West Point Grey (closest area to venue), Kitsilano, Dunbar-Southlands, Fairview, Mount Pleasant, Downtown, and West End neighborhoods as you begin your search, but recommend avoiding North and West Vancouver if you want to limit traffic & travel time to the venue. Level Furnished Apartment Suites in Yaletown may also be a good option to explore (www.stayinglevel.com/destinations/vancouver/seymour). If you're looking for a Bed & Breakfast experience, check out The Barclay House (www.barclayhouse.com) or The Hunter House (www.historic-hunterhouse.ca).
