Destination D.C.

We can't wait to welcome you to our city. We'll see you for both our ceremony and reception at: The Willard InterContinental Hotel 1401 Pennsylvania Avenue NW Washington, D.C. 20004 You can experience the rich history of Washington right from your room - or better yet, from the ballroom - at the Willard. President-elect Abraham Lincoln took up residence at The Willard for ten days prior to his inauguration. Julia Ward Howe penned the immortal words of the Battle Hymn of the Republic in the hotel's halls. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. sat on its steps with his closest advisors to make the final edits to his famous 'I Have a Dream' speech just hours before delivering it on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. Feeling more of a capital cynic than a D.C. devotee? It was in the Willard lobby that Ulysses S. Grant popularized the term "lobbyist," using it to deride self-promoters who approached him in the hotel lobby as he enjoyed a drink and cigar.

Flight

Reagan National Airport

Reagan National is the most accessible airport in the area - it's just a 10-minute taxi/Uber ride away. If you're feeling particularly local, you can also take the Metro. Board at the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport stop (attached to the airport itself) and head to Metro Center station, just three blocks from The Willard.

Flight

Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport

It's an easy trip between the BWI airport and downtown D.C. A free airport shuttle will take you across the street to the MARC/Amtrak station, where you can board a ~30 minute train into D.C. on MARC's Penn Line. You can buy and scan your ticket straight from your smartphone. You might also choose to rent a car/use a rideshare service, but expect around a 45-minute trip.
