Courtney's first job in D.C. was as a Capitol tour guide. We recommend you take a guided tour, but we know it won't be as good as hers.
Smithsonian Museums
Sam's favorite is the Air and Space Museum. Courtney likes the African American History and Culture Museum best.
National Mall
Take a walk through D.C.'s backyard, and check off the Lincoln Memorial, the World War II Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and the Tidal Basin - where the city's famous cherry trees grow. Our favorite time to visit the monuments is at night.
DC Wharf Market Docks
Shop, dine, and enjoy the water view. You might even take the water taxi to Georgetown, Old Town Alexandria, or National Harbor in Maryland.
Eastern Market
Find the perfect souvenir among the flurry of craft, flea, and produce market vendors. Plus, Market Lunch's bluebucks - blueberry-buckwheat pancakes - are definitely worth the wait.
Gravelly Point Park
Watch the planes take off and land right above you. So right above you the ground shakes a little.
