Is St. Thomas safe to explore outside of resorts/hotels?

Answer

Yes!! Taxis are readily available throughout the island (no Uber or Lyft). If you do use a taxi, make sure to bring cash or get cash in advance from the many ATMs they have on the island. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, and beaches to safely explore on your own. You can also hop onto a ferry over to St. John for even more beautiful scenery. Tickets are cheap and the ride is only 20 min! For more information on the ferry, please visit: https://stjohnticketing.com
