What is the temperature going to be?

Answer

Fall time will see changing weather. Be prepared for daytime temperatures in the 60s F and the nights temperature ranging in the 40s F.

What type of clothing should I bring?

Answer

During the daytime it is nice to dress in layers that you can take off when it's warm; Tshirt, Shorts, walking shoes and a sweater and at night it is nice to have layered clothes to be warm in; pants, long sleeve shirt, jacket. A Beanie, Hat and Scarf are great accessories and if the weather permits, a bathing suit. Yuba River is one of the most beautiful crystal clear rivers. I will be jumping in and inner tubing if possible.

What ammenities are in Town and at the Shangri La Cottages?

Answer

Downieville town is a very small walking town that looks like it came out of a movie set. There are 3 restaurants, 1 Coffee Shop, 1 Bar, a liquor convenience store and a 2 pump gas station. The Sierra Shangri La Cottages are equipped with full kitchens and full size fridges and a cozy fireplace. It is a good idea to do a full grocery shopping trip in Nevada City before you make the drive to Downieville or Rocklin if you would like to go to Costco. The Studios/Hotel rooms at Shangri La are not equipped with a kitchen. It has a studio size refrigerator.

Good question, there are a lot of intricate pieces and moving parts to bring everyone together, build a space and create a beautiful gathering. We need people to help with the build-up and breakdown, transporting tables and items to and from downieville, cooking and other tasks. You can find the people in charge in the 'Wanna Help?' section. Are Donations Excepted?

Answer

Definitely. We are putting the wedding on with a tight budget. Donations are graciously and thankfully accepted and all money donated is going to food, alcohol, porta potties etc. for the wedding.
