Things To Do

La Barra

La Barra, Maldonado Department, Uruguay

La Barra is a fun town 15 minutes from where we are hosting our events. More populated town, fun boutiques, coffee shops & restaurants. Medialunas Calentitas is a must for a warm croissant after a long beach day. Nice beach to go to here is Montoya & La posta del cangrejo.

Manantiales

Manantiales, Maldonado Department 20002, Uruguay

Manantiales is 15 minutes away from the town we will be in, has good restaurants and a fun beach, Bikini Beach, to go watch the sunset & have a drink. Good coffee shop, La Linda, for a little afternoon coffee & snack after the beach.

Great beachfront restaurant over looking the main beach of Jose Ignacio. Fun vibe during the day for lunch and drinks to get a break from the sun and also great for a nice candlelit dinner.

Parador La Huella

Calle de Los Cisnes, José Ignacio, Departamento de Maldonado 20402, Uruguay
, +598 4486 2279

A family favorite, such a good vibe right on the sand and the food is just too good! Must get the “Caipi de Maracuya” cocktail. We highly recommend the fish of the day, the octopus starter, the mussels & clams & the milanesa is a classic.

Panadería José Ignacio

10, José Ignacio, Departamento de Maldonado 20402, Uruguay
, +598 94 600 120

Best coffee & pastry spot in Jose Ignacio. Croissants, Pan de queso (cheese bread) and lots of other yummy morning and afternoon treats. We love going early in the morning to bring some home and also in the afternoon to bring with us to watch the sunset at the beach. South Americans love an afternoon tea time with mate or coffee.

Cruz del Sur Farm

José Ignacio, Departamento de Maldonado 20402, Uruguay

My cousins farm to table restaurant in the center of town. Great fresh food, lots of unique & tasty plates. We highly recommend going for lunch one day.

Bodega Garzón

km. 175 9, Garzón, Departamento de Maldonado 20400, Uruguay

Such a beautiful winery. Great for tasting, exploring the vineyard and having an amazing fire dinner. It’s a 40 minute trip from the town but super worth it! I've linked the website so make sure to check it out and make a reservation.

Atelier Francis Mallmann

Avenida la Estación, Garzón, Departamento de Maldonado 20400, Uruguay

Garzon is a very small town, my uncle has an amazing restaurant there which is great for lunch or dinner if you happen to make your way to this town. If you go to the winery and want to have dinner here while in Garzon that would be a great plan. Reservations needed.

Cabo Polonio

Cabo Polonio, Rocha Department 27202, Uruguay

The most unconventional village in Uruguay, super isolated, has a nice beach and would be fun to go for the day with a group. It's about 2 hours away from Jose Ignacio.

Haras GODIVA

José Ignacio, Departamento de Maldonado 20402, Uruguay

Beach horseback riding tours. If your interested in doing a horseback riding tour for sunset this would be the spot. Check their website for more info & for booking.

Montevideo

Montevideo, Montevideo Department, Uruguay

Carrasco in Montevideo will be your arrival destination, they have very pretty streets to roam in the center of town. Sofitel is a great hotel to stop and have lunch or a coffee before heading to Jose Ignacio.

Solanas

Punta Ballena, Departamento de Maldonado 20003, Uruguay

Great calm beach, calm waters & an epic spot for an afternoon sunset trip! Casa Pueblo is close by for a coffee & also has hotel rooms!

For all the days along the way
