Things To Do

If you are staying in Austin and looking for "Austin weird," we have listed a few suggestions below, but there are an endless amount of things to do in the city so please reach out if you are looking for something specific! We strongly recommend you AVOID 6th Street and Rainey Street.

The Last Drive-In Picture Show

2912 Texas 36, Gatesville, TX 76528

Enjoy the nostalgia of a drive-in movie experience!

The Beltonian Theatre

219 East Central Avenue, Belton, TX 76513

Movies are only $4.99 at this historic (and allegedly haunted) theater.

Spare Time Texas Temple

5434 205 Loop, Temple, TX 76502

Bowling, go karts, laser tag, ropes course, mini golf, batting cages, and arcade!

BitBar Temple

2501 Airport Road, Temple, TX 76504

A barcade owned by one of Paul's friends!

Congress Bridge Bats

100 South Congress Avenue, Austin, TX 78704

It sounds crazy, but this is a great family activity in Austin! When the sun sets, 1.5 million bats fly out from under the Congress Bridge. Austin makes a big deal of this event and there is always a crowd there to watch!

Mayfield Park and Nature Preserve

3505 West 35th Street, Austin, TX 78703

If nature and getting up close and personal with wild peacocks are your thing, this is your place! This is also where we took our engagement photos.

Cathedral of Junk

4422 Lareina Drive, Austin, TX 78745

It's exactly what it sounds like, but it is also much cooler than it sounds. Worth the trip if you're looking to experience more of the "Austin weird!"

ColdTowne Theater

1700 East 2nd Street, Austin, TX 78702

A great place to catch a comedy or improv show.
