Paul was in Baltimore, MD the week of 15 November 2015 for a work Conference. On 20 November 2015, Paul and Madeline matched on Tinder. Madeline had never messaged a guy first, but there was something about Paul that made her want to. After some serious discussion with her friend, she decided to message him first. An hour later, Paul finished up his Yoga class and checked his phone. He messaged Madeline back and said he would text more after he tried out this new Sushi Burrito place that just opened up. Madeline was anxious to meet Paul, but he already had plans to go to North Carolina that night, Virginia Beach the beginning of that week, and Germany for Thanksgiving. The first day they both had available was 5 December 2015. Paul decided to have their first date at Succotash at National Harbor. Madeline left Baltimore early, but an hour before their scheduled meet up time, Google Maps was already telling her that she was going to be fifteen minutes late. Stuck in traffic, she sent Paul a message apologizing and giving him her ETA. When she saw him, she thought he was a little extra... with his camel colored cashmere peacoat on. He thought she was going to be high maintenance. When they sat at their booth, Paul started to tell Madeline what he thought looked good to him on the menu. She thought it would be refreshing to just let him order for them... three appetizers, three entrees, and two desserts later... Nothing has changed..
Madeline was in Las Vegas to celebrate her thirtieth birthday with her mom and sister. Even though Paul was busy closing on the house and with work, he found the time to go to Las Vegas for a day to spend with her. He flew in Saturday morning and he took her to Morimoto's in the MGM Grand for dinner. Afterwards, they decided to walk around and went to the LINQ to ride the High Roller ferris wheel. (For those that don't know, Paul and Madeline rode the ferris wheel on their first date at National Harbor.) Right after they reached the apex, Paul asked Madeline if she could sit down. He knelt down on one knee and opened up this black ring box. There was a light in the box that shined down on the ring. Being April Fool's day, Madeline asked Paul if this was real. When he assured her it wasn't a joke, she threw her arms around him and said, "Yes."
