In 2016, Lizzie and Paul were staffed on a project together at Nestle- a Canadian Bacon cost reduction project on DiGiorno Pizza- yes, riveting stuff. As Paul and Lizzie got to working out what supplier they'd get this weird ham from, they became friends, and only friends for the next several years while they hopped around jobs, dated a lot of the wrong people, and enjoyed their time together living in the same neighborhood in DC.

After almost four years of friendship, Lizzie headed to Switzerland and Paul headed back to Cleveland for a new role. As they parted ways, they both wondered... "what if...." Finally, in June 2020, Lizzie called up mutual bestie, Jaime, and shared her feelings. Jaime, being the best-mate that he is, gave Lizzie the real-real and told her that Paul got drunk in 2018 and said "I would definitely marry Lizzie Nolan". From there, Lizzie and Paul agreed they both wanted to see where this could go. A not-so-trival "go and see" in a pandemic when you're living on two different continents. Challenge accepted!! And so... after a mountain of internet research and a hefty dose of risk, Paul and Lizzie headed to Istanbul, Turkey to see if the sparks would fly. Well everyone. They did. And now we're getting married!
