Here are some of our favorite spots to eat and drink in Salem!

The Governor's Cup Coffee Roasters

471 Court Street Northeast, Salem, OR 97301

We used to frequent this space for study sessions as students at Willamette. Now, it's one of our favorite spots for coffee and a bagel in downtown Salem.

Archive Coffee & Bar

102 Liberty Street Northeast, Salem, OR 97301

Archive is a little taste of Portland in downtown Salem — by day, it's a cozy coffee shop. At night, it's a lively spot for cocktails and a secret speakeasy.

Noble Wave | Louisiana Kitchen

189 Liberty Street Northeast, Salem, OR 97301

A great spot for lunch or dinner. We recommend the cheese curds!

Venti's Cafe + Beer Vault

325 Court Street Northeast, Salem, OR 97301

A casual restaurant with a cozy basement bar. When we lived in Salem, we used to go here to find the elusive Pliny the Elder IPA.

Cuisine India

1220 State Street, Salem, OR 97301

Mere blocks from Paul's office on Willamette's campus, this is his go-to lunch spot during the work week.

West Side Tap House

1594 Edgewater Street Northwest, Salem, OR 97304

This was our favorite local tap house when we lived in West Salem. During the pandemic, this was one of the outdoor spaces where we could enjoy being "out" of the house.

Riverfront Park

230 Front Street Southeast, Salem, OR 97301

A few blocks from campus, this a good spot for a quick walk in the park. Also the site of Salem's anual Pride celebration. We recommend walking across the bridge into Minto Brown if you have time to spare.

For all the days along the way
