Our wedding is inspired by the rainbow — the mix of colors coming together in a celebration of love, joy, and pride. Pride in each other, and pride in who we have become together. After first meeting in college, we reconnected years later as part of the Portland Gay Men's Chorus. We were reunited in our shared love of singing and it helped us find a place in the LGBTQ+ community. We decided we wanted this sense of community, love, and belonging reflected in our wedding celebration. So, we hope you will join us as we travel — together, hand-in-hand — "Over the Rainbow."
Our first date in 2017 included a visit to a McMenamins pub in Portland. Since then, McMenamins — the chain of 54 historic restaurants, hotels, pubs, and theaters across the Pacific Northwest stretching from Seattle, WA to Roseburg, OR — has been a frequent date spot and travel destination for us. Our love of McMenamins has been enhanced by the McMenamins Passport, a multi-city scavenger hunt that combines art, food, beer, history, music, and travel. With the passport, you collect stamps for different activities and locations, complete with prizes. We thought it would be fun to incorporate this idea into the wedding. When you arrive, you'll receive our own version of the McMenamins Passport. This will double as your program and a fun activity. We'll have stations where you can collect stamps throughout the event and take home your completed passport as a memory of the celebration. We hope you'll join us on our Passport journey!
