We met the very modern way, through the Catholic Match dating app, while we were both living in Orlando. Paul sent the first message on April 21, 2024, and Beth replied a few days later on April 24. From the start, our conversations felt easy and natural, and it quickly became clear that we shared more than just a few common interests. We talked about our faith, our families, and the paths that had led us to where we were. We also discovered a shared love for Community (even though we still haven’t watched it together yet). Paul was immediately struck by Beth’s beauty and warmth, while Beth couldn’t help but notice how handsome Paul looked in his all-white suit. After what Beth would say was almost too long of talking, Paul finally asked Beth out to dinner and a movie. Our first date could not have gone better. We saw The Fall Guy and then went to The Cheesecake Factory, where we barely touched our food because we couldn’t stop talking. The movie never even came up. Instead, we talked about our lives, our experiences, and everything in between. That night also marked Beth’s first introduction to Paul’s sense of humor, when he very convincingly told her that he had moved to Florida because his family was in the witness protection program. That moment officially introduced Beth to the “stinker” Paul would later become—her stinker. Not long after, we both realized this was something special. For Paul, it happened about two months into our relationship during a quiet, meaningful conversation at the Premium Outlets, when he knew Beth was someone he could truly see a future with. For Beth, it came even sooner. After she casually mentioned how much she missed rhubarb pie from Idaho, Paul went out of his way to find a bakery in Orlando that made it and had it delivered to her workplace. That small but thoughtful gesture spoke volumes. Beth knew then that Paul truly listened, cared deeply, and was someone she could trust with her heart. Since becoming a couple on May 18, 2024, we have built a life filled with joy, laughter, and shared adventures. We love picnics and Movies Under the Stars at Leu Gardens, where we spread out a blanket, enjoy the evening air, and soak in time together. We spend many weekends at EPCOT and the other Disney parks (annual pass holders!), exploring festivals, sharing snacks, and creating memories. We also love bowling nights and trips to Topgolf, where a little friendly competition always finds its way in. Along the way, we have grown together in deeper and more meaningful ways. Paul has been growing closer to his Catholic faith, inspired by Beth’s devotion and example, while Beth has learned to step outside her comfort zone and embrace new experiences with confidence and trust. Together, we continue to encourage one another to grow, challenge ourselves, and become better versions of who we are called to be. We got engaged at Port Orleans – Riverside at Walt Disney World, in front of a beautiful fountain. While Beth had a feeling something special might happen that day, she was completely surprised when, after she said “yes,” our families emerged from hiding to celebrate with us. Although the proposal was originally planned to include a horse-drawn carriage, a Florida storm changed those plans. Just in time, the rain stopped, the sun came out, and everything fell perfectly into place. Surrounded by family, happy tears, and Disney magic, we celebrated afterward at Disney Springs with dinner at The Boathouse. As we look ahead, we are excited to begin our life as husband and wife—traveling together, building a home, and someday raising a family grounded in our Catholic faith. Our faith is the foundation of our relationship and the cornerstone of the life we are building together. We are incredibly grateful for the love and support that surround us, and we are so thankful to share this day, and this journey, with all of you.
