We met at Applebee's in Overland Park where I was a server and Paul was a bartender. I had a crush on him but he was oblivious to my flirting until a manager pointed it out to him. Unfortunately, I left shortly after to go to college but every time I came home we got together. There was just something there that we couldn't shelve. She finally graduates from college, and get's a job near me in Kansas City, so I think things will pick back up. I started running 5k's with her and taking her out on nice dates, but to no avail. She's clueless. I felt like giving up after a few months like that. I was tired of running! Then Paul invited Amy to a Halloween party in 2015. Someone asked if we were together and instead of the awkward no's we always gave when asked (and we'd been asked many times throughout the years!) we paused for just a half a second and locked eyes. Amy said something like 'do you?' and Paul exclaimed 'that's what I've been TRYING to do!' We had a long conversation a week later, agreed that after all this time the other is who we were searching for, and the rest, as they say, is history.
