Question

What can we expect in terms of passport and visa requirements?

Answer

Traveling to Portugal will require your US passport - please note that you need to ensure that your passport does not expire within 6 months of the last day of your stay in Europe. Visas are NOT required for Portugal if entering with a US passport - please note that the upcoming administrative fee for entrance into the European Union with a US passport has been pushed to 2025 and will not affect your travel to the wedding. Please also ensure you follow any passport requirements sent via the airline you book with.

Question

Where should we look to book our stay while in the Algarve?

Answer

Please note that we have added some suggested options in the Travel section of the website. We have one hotel option located near the ceremony in the Faro area and options in the area Tavira near the welcome party and pre-wedding celebration. If preferred, there are also gorgeous options on AirBnB and VRBO to rent your own "quinta" - the Portuguese name for a villa. As you choose a place to stay, please take note of a few items: 1) The proximity to certain events; 2) Location preference as Faro will put you more in the heart of the action while Tavira will provide you more of the rural beauty of the Algarve: 3) Distance to the grooms as we will be staying at Casas da Quinta de Cima (the location for the Pre-Wedding Celebration).

Question

When is the best time to book flights?

Answer

Flight pricing will vary over time and will be very dependent on the airport you are coming from. We encourage you to track flights using either Google Flights or the Hopper app. These should tell you the best options and the best time to book. Please note that you may be able to also find affordable options by using a "multi city" tracking approach and tracking flights to other major cities in Europe as well.

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Yes, there are two other official events you are invited to as well: a Welcome Party on Thursday, July 11th and a Pre-Wedding Celebration on Friday, July 12th. Please find full details on the "Schedule" tab of this website and don't forget to RSVP please.

Question

How will we get between events?

Answer

Select shuttle and bus service is being offered for ONLY the Pre-Wedding Celebration and Wedding Ceremony and reception. For the Pre-Wedding Celebration, we have organized a shuttle specifically from Palacio de Estoi to and from the celebration - please see additional timing details on the "Travel & Accommodation" page. This is open to those staying at Palacio de Estoi or in the Faro area since they will be further away from the festivities. Please note that the other wedding hotels, like Pensao Agricola and Colegio Charm House are a short drive from the Pre-Wedding Celebration at Casas da Quinta de Cima, allowing for Uber if needed. For the Wedding itself, there will be a tour bus to and from the wedding making stops at all 3 Tavira area hotels as well as a shuttle from Palacio de Estoi to the festivities at Os Agostos. Please see additional details on the "Travel & Accommodation" page. Final timing for all shuttle and bus service will be confirmed via email and on the website closer to the events. Please stay tuned for further details.

Question

Is there parking for the events?

Answer

If you do choose to drive and not take a shuttle, there is parking available for the Pre-Wedding Celebration at Casas da Quinta de Cima and for the ceremony and reception at Os Agostos.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes, there is a dress code for each of the events that can be found in the "Schedule" section of the website per event. We have also provided example outfit pictures to provide greater detail on the website tab labeled as the "Look Book."

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

We ask that you please RSVP by March 15th, 2024.

Question

Should we travel elsewhere during our trip?

Answer

Yes! If you have the time we highly suggest exploring the rest of Portugal. Lisbon is not to be missed and other areas like Porto, the Douro Valley, Sintra, and Cascáis are all amazing in their own rights. Portugal is a relatively small country so expanding your trip by a few days on either side of the wedding festivities, and even flying through Lisbon, will allow you to see much of the country in just over a week or so. Please note that we do have recommendations for you to further explore the Algarve in your spare time on the “Things to Do” page here on the website. If you would like any recommendations for other areas in Portugal don’t hesitate to message Paul and Alexander.
