Question

Transportation

Answer

There will be transportation provided for ALL guests from The Hilton in Short Pump. The buses will be leaving from the hotel going to the wedding venue at 3:30pm and returning to the hotel at 9pm, 9:45pm and 11pm. You can Uber to the hotel or park your car in their parking lot for free. Please use the transportation so you can enjoy yourself and stay safe!

Question

Venue

Answer

The wedding, cocktail hour, and reception will be at The Estate at River Run, the Richmond area's newest event venue in Maidens, VA. Originally named River Run Manor, the mansion was the show piece and premier celebration location of the late William Blair Massey, [A.T. Massey Coal & Donor for Massey Cancer Center] which took over 5 years to build. Site work started at the Estate in 1979 to create a bluff with the perfect river view of the James, and construction followed and lasted until 1985. Interior design and furnishings for the property took another two years to complete, and in 1987 the property was ready to be showcased to his friends and business associates. River Run was purchased by Patty and Phil’s wedding planner and her business partners in the fall of 2019. An enormous amount of improvements have been completed in the short time they've been there, and we were one of the first to view it under their new ownership!

Question

COVID Precautions

Answer

Transportation: We have rented an extra bus for transport so that people can social distance on the buses to and from the wedding. James River Transportation is also taking extra precautions on their own- please see the following link for more details: https://vimeo.com/423707896 We will have a housekeeping attendant who will be disinfecting things such as bathrooms and doorknobs throughout the whole evening. We have added extra tables outdoors for those who would prefer to remain outdoors during the festivities. Staff: All staff will be wearing masks and gloves Food: The dinner stations will be staffed with people who will plate things for you instead of self serve. There will also be a plexiglass barrier shield covering each food station. Dancing: There will be COVID precaution surprises for those who choose to dance...

Question

COVID Precautions (continued)

Answer

We have taken every precaution that has been recommended to us and will continue to brainstorm ideas and adjust plans as needed. While we obviously want each and every one of you to be with us on our wedding day, we recognize that the times are unprecedented. We do not want anyone to feel uncomfortable or unsafe and we want you to know that we completely understand if you are unable to join us.

For all the days along the way
