Kevin and Patty met on Hinge, right as Kevin was preparing to leave Phoenix and Patty was just starting her first year of residency. Their first date was at a pool hall. Patty offered to buy the first round of drinks if Kevin could beat her at pool, to which Kevin said, "thank you for getting the first round". Patty promptly won the first three games, and it was at that moment Kevin decided not to leave Phoenix after all. Their second date was acrylic painting and dinner, where Kevin showed Patty how not to abstract paint (he asked for a ruler) and how not to handle spicy food (sweating profusely). Over time, Patty would learn that Kevin could come up with dad jokes on command but would need weeks to research his first duffle bag purchase. And Kevin would learn that Patty could come up with endless rules to help her win at HORSE (they never worked) but not think of a single reason she didn't need another plant. Many more laughs and adventures later, Kevin proposed at Delta Lake in the Grand Tetons. It was a beautiful surprise and Patty was overjoyed to say yes. Afterwards, they had to hike back down the snowy, bear infested mountain. Kevin bravely kept the bears at bay by loudly listing every player (bench included) on his fantasy football team, commenting on their position, notable skills, and basically outlining their entire NFL careers. Suffice it to say, they made it down safely without a bear in sight, and Patty never asked him about his fantasy football team again.
