When a colleague from work invited Patrick to come along for a weekend in Mallorca, Patrick was all in for a jaunt to the island. It was the beginning of a much bigger journey than he ever expected. Two worlds collided that Saturday over good food, old friends, cocktails, laughter, and deep discussions. Over dinner, Patrick and the Spanish American girl who captivated his attention had a lively debate coming from two very different perspectives. International collaborations have been terminated over less, but to both their surprise, a life-long dialogue began that night, punctuated by dancing, good gin and tonics, and a stop at an Irish pub. Thus ensued a long-distance, intercontinental romance from Madrid to Orlando. There were weekends at Disney World and Miami, a Broadway filled weekend to New York, a family beach trip to Gulf Shores, birthday celebrations in Mallorca, Mardi Gras in New Orleans, friends’ weddings around the U.S., and a whirlwind summer in Norway, Copenhagen, Ibiza and Barcelona. After 15 months of stolen weekends and long-distance dating, Sofia and Patrick moved into their first home in Los Angeles, where they began to build their life together. On February 12th of 2020, two years after their first date, Patrick invited Sofia to their favorite park with their Labradoodle, Roux. At sunset, he surprised her with an engagement ring and a proposal. Their long and winding conversation begun two years earlier, culminating in one really important question, and the answer was, “Yes!” After a courtship of 1,000 small journeys, Sofia and Patrick invite you to join them in Mallorca to launch a voyage that will last a lifetime.
