We are getting married!

They met in 2019 and found a connection that people only dream about. Shirley was in Miami and Atlanta and Patrick was in Colorado Springs and Kuwait most of that year talking and getting to know each other. By 2020 the pandemic changed our world and made it harder to travel yet easier to communicate. In September, Patrick flew home to Atlanta and spent the whole weekend hiking, exploring restaurants and enjoying time with Shirley and his family. That same weekend they were officially dating! Se conocieron en 2019 y encontraron una conexión que mucha gente solo se soñaron. Shirley estaba en Miami y Atlanta y Patrick estaba en Colorado Springs y Kuwait por la mayoría de ese año, hablando y conociendo uno a otro. En 2020 la pandemia cambió el mundo y lo hizo mas difícil a viajar sino más fácil a comunicar. En Septiembre, Patrick voló a su casa en Atlanta y pasó el fin de semana entero subiendo montañas, explorando restaurantes y disfrutando su tiempo con Shirley y su familia. ¡Ese mismo fin de semana, empezaron a salir juntos oficialmente!

Patrick spent months planning this event and coordinating friends and family to come to Atlanta to be a part of the proposal. Shirley was out of town the week before and drove home all the way back from Florida with her mom and brother. Everyone gathered for church the next day and after lunch Patrick suggested they all go for a walk at the site of Patrick and Shirley’s first date in 2020. Patrick and his closest friends designed a beautiful surprise proposal in a large green field near the mountain. He was worried the weather wouldn’t work out but it turned out perfect. Patrick played a special song while each family member watched. Shirley was amazed and surprised by the thoughtful planning and loved having family all around for the special moment. Patrick got on one knee and asked Shirley to be his wife forever and ever. Through tears and smiles she said yes and the rest is history. ☺️ Patrick pasó meses planeando este evento y coordinando amigos y familia para venir a Atlanta a ser parte de la pedida de mano. Shirley estuvo en viaje la semana antes y manejó a Atlanta desde Miami con su mamá y hermano. Todos se reunieron para ir a la iglesia la próxima mañana y después de almuerzo Patrick sugirió que todos vayan para dar un paseo en el mismo sitio donde Shirley y Patrick tuvieron su primera cita en 2020. Patrick y sus mejores amigos diseñaron una sorpresa tan linda para la pedida de mano en un campo grande y verde cerca de la montaña. El se preocupaba por el clima pero todo salió perfecto en ese momento. Patrick tocó una canción especial en la guitarra mientras la familia observó de lejos. Shirley estaba sorprendida y asombrada por todo el pensamiento y planificación y a ella le encantó tener la familia bien cerca durante ese momento especial. Patrick se puso en una rodilla y la pidió a ser su marida para siempre. Entre lágrimas y sonrisas ella respondió que “¡Sí” y el resto es historia. ☺️
