What is Our Story?

Answer

Our story is a reminder that God can use even the most unexpected places to begin something beautiful. What started as a simple conversation on Hinge quickly became intentional, meaningful, and full of peace. From the beginning, there was a sense that this was divinely orchestrated. Patrick, from California, and Selam, from Maryland, came from opposite coasts but discovered a shared foundation in Christ. Selam is Eritrean, Patrick is Ugandan, and our cultures and upbringings shaped us in unique ways — yet our love for the Lord united us instantly. Faith wasn’t just something we had in common; it became the cornerstone of our relationship. When Patrick moved to Virginia, what seemed like a career transition became part of God’s greater plan. With each date, long conversation, and prayer together, our friendship deepened and our love grew stronger. Looking back, we can clearly see how God had been aligning our paths all along. Today, we are incredibly grateful for a love rooted in faith, strengthened by friendship, and guided by God. We’re excited to begin this next chapter as husband and wife, surrounded by the family and friends who have supported and prayed for us every step of the way.
