If you're interested in beautiful views, a cool museum, and nice trails, look no further than Griffith Park. The Griffith Observatory is an iconic landmark in Los Angeles and is a perfect place to visit for SoCal's gorgeous sunrises or sunsets.
Los Angeles has great weather year-round. In early November, it's common for temperatures to hover in the mid-70's. Take advantage of our amazing coastlines. Santa Monica Pier is fun beach destination. If you choose something less touristy, I recommend heading North to Malibu or South to Venice Beach.
Temescal Canyon is a very special place for us. It's where we had our 3rd date and it's also where Patrick proposed. The trail has amazing views of the city and the ocean from the summit. Just be careful if you're parking in the lot at the park entrance; those stop sign cameras are a $75 fine. We recommend parking on Sunset Blvd or Temescal Canyon Road Rd and walking in.
If you're looking to scope out the location for our wedding, check out the Arts District in Downtown Los Angeles. It's been revitalized in the past few years and is home to numerous breweries and restaurants. Grab a drink and enjoy the community art projects along the sides of buildings in this swanky spot.
One of our first dates was to a flea market, and we have scouted LA for some of the best hidden gems. This one is close to our old apartment and is open every Sunday! It's a nice area to walk around, grab a coffee, and find some vintage treasures. Entrance is around $5 so be sure to bring cash. All fees help support the schools.
The Highland Park Bowl is the oldest standing bowling alley in Los Angeles. Enjoy some time soaking in LA history while knocking down some pins and enjoying craft cocktails. Games before 4pm on Saturday are only $25 for the lane + $5 shoe rentals.
Close to our apartment, Cafecito Organico is one of Scott's favorite coffee spots. They have a cute outdoor area for reading and relaxation. This neighborhood is also close to iconic downtown Silver Lake, an artsy and affluent neighborhood North of LA.
One of Patrick's faves, Wurstkuche provides great dogs for vegans and meat lovers alike. Located in the Arts District in Downtown LA, this fun little spot usually has a long line. Make sure to go during the off-hours! And, don't miss out on their delicious fries and homemade sauces. Yum!
Try something unique for lunch, the Farmer's Market has more than 40 different vendors selling everything from Cajun cooking to Brazilian BBQ. If you want to check out some of LA's best shopping, the Grove is just steps away.
If you're in the mood for comfort foods, look no further than Messhall Kitchen. They serve a delicious take on chicken and waffles and a number of other southern staples. And if you're in an adventurous mood, you can "roll the dice" like Patrick and get one of the bartender's speciality cocktails.
As you can tell from our suggestions and wedding venue, we love beer! A great restaurant that's located in quaint Atwater Village is The Morrison. They have plenty of burger options, including vegetarian options and have some amazing sides and desserts. If you have some extra time in LA (and some room in your stomachs), check this place out.
You all probably know how much Scott likes his ice cream. Wanderlust Creamery does not disappoint. They combine unique flavors from around the world into magical batches of the rich dessert. And, they have a wide range of vegan options--check out Mango Sticky Rice, one of Scott's favorites!
