Fly directly into Augusta's regional airport! It's usually worth the additional cost over flying nearby and renting a car. Plus, if you stay at the DoubleTree (using the wedding discount link), then you can take advantage of their FREE airport shuttle. No car rental necessary... the hotel also has shuttles to nearby shopping and restaurants (like Target and O'Charley's). Atlanta, GA or Charlotte, NC airports are also a reasonable 2-2.5 hour drive to Augusta.
