Our first date didn’t exactly go smoothly. Rachel showed up to the wrong restaurant (though she’ll say Patrick didn’t give clear directions). By the time we finally met up, we spent more time playfully arguing than actually dating. We laughed it off and decided friendship might be the safer bet. For the next year, that friendship grew. We traded stories, shared plenty of laughs, and kept finding reasons to spend time together — even if it wasn’t “dating.” When we gave it another chance, we quickly discovered that what we had was more than just friendship. That second chance grew into love, and that love grew into the life we’re building today.
