Patrick and Lisa were in Upstate NY for their annual Summer trip home. On Monday, June 19, they took a trip to Niagara Falls and enjoyed a beautiful day by the falls. As they boarded the Maid of the Mist, Patrick referenced Lisa's favorite show, "The Office", where Jim and Pam got married on Maid of the Mist. Patrick had previously told Lisa he was planning a special weekend away in August, so she pushed the idea of a proposal out of her mind and enjoyed the rest of their day. The next morning on Tuesday, June 20, Patrick planned a day at Seabreeze, their favorite childhood amusement park. What was initially a fun day of waterslides and rollercoasters became a time they would never forget when Patrick popped the question on the Log Flume as they were (literally) making their way up the hill. Patrick didn't leave Lisa much time to respond before they descended over the flume in their log. Lisa's shock turned to disbelief when they arrived at Don's Original for some ground rounds and hots, and were greeted by their friends and family, including a surprise visit from sister Lauren who flew across the country to be there for the big event. They finished their onion rings and steak fries, but the surprise was not over. Patrick had booked tickets for all to board the Colonial Belle (drink vouchers included), a paddleboat trip along the Erie Canal. It was the perfect Rochester infused day.
