Join us for a relaxed welcome gathering as we kick off the wedding weekend! We’ll be hanging out at Waterfront Park in Hood River — a perfect spot to soak in the views, catch up with friends old and new, and ease into the festivities. Bring your own picnic-style food and drinks (yes, open containers of alcohol are allowed in Hood River!). You’re also welcome to grab a bite from one of the nearby food carts or restaurants before joining us at the park. And of course, feel free to sip on wine from your favorite local winery or crack open a cold beer from one of the amazing nearby breweries — just please enjoy responsibly. It’s casual, come-as-you-are vibes. Kids can run around, toes can dip in the river, and blankets and lawn chairs are encouraged. We can’t wait to see you there and start the celebration together!

Instead of the traditional wedding cake, we are doing a tradition from where the bride grew up called the Pittsburgh cookie table! The beginning of the cookie table has long since been debated, but it grew in popularity during the great depression when couples couldn't afford a wedding cake. The women of the bride's family would all bake their coveted family cookie recipes and create a table full of beautiful creations passed down from generations. Today the cookie table is a deep-rooted tradition in southwest Pennsylvania. If you would like to volunteer to make something for our cookie table, please RSVP! we ask that it be: 1. at least two dozen cookies 2. that you give us the name of the cookie, and a list of the common allergens so we can display them next to your cookie. please list the cookie you will bring, if you want to participate but don't know which to make yet, just put TBD! and figure it out later!
