Eight years ago we came to know one another better after being cast to sing together in The Greatest Gift Christmas program. Little did we know that this would begin our adventure to becoming best friends, music and ministry partners, and eventually soulmates.
In a few months we were writing music and performing together. Something powerful was happening and it needed a name. We prayed faithfully for God to give us a name and He lead us to Isaiah 55:13, where it declares, "Instead of the thornbush, will grow the Juniper." It's a promise of God's restoration and it would be the promise He fulfilled in each of our lives through personal struggles, brokenness, and through the blessing of our love for one another.
"Something Beautiful" I can’t explain all that brought us here But here we are and it seems quite clear The both of us want something more A patient love worth waiting for When misfortune spoke It made a way Maybe that’s God’s voice saying it’s ok. Now it’s one, two, three I wait patiently For you to see That I’m here for you Maybe we can let this be Something beautiful Oh you’re beautiful to me All these thoughts I have Up in my head They’re filled with you and the words unsaid I think it’s time for some honesty Gonna let this out Let my love run free Now it’s one, two, three I wait patiently For you to see That I’m here for you Maybe we can let this be Something Beautiful Oh you’re beautiful to me *He surprised me and It was unreal, it honestly felt like a dream. My best friend was declaring how he felt about me through this beautiful song. My heart responded to his, and from then on we began the patient journey together towards our Faithful Day. - Jodelis
On one of our first dates we ate dinner at a little restaurant called Rails. Post-dinner we sauntered into the middle of a close-by field under the glow of street lights. The song "Same Parts, Same Heart" (Our Song) began to play as we danced slowly in one another's arms for the first time. 4 years later we would dance in the same field to the same song—only this time—I got down on one knee and she said, "Yes!!!"
