Nuestra historia comenzó de la forma más inesperada, bailando salsa en Katy, Texas. Sin planes, sin expectativas y simplemente dejándonos llevar por algo que ambos amábamos. La música y el ritmo hicieron su magia, y en medio de ese espacio de alegría y pasión, nos encontramos por primera vez sin saber que ese instante marcaría nuestras vidas para siempre. Desde ese primer encuentro, algo fue evidente: compartíamos un espíritu aventurero y una conexión cultural profunda. Había una curiosidad genuina por nuestras historias, por nuestras raíces y por la manera en que cada uno veía la vida. Ese deseo de explorar, de viajar y de crecer fue acercándonos cada vez más. Quién hubiera imaginado que Patrick, en su búsqueda por volver a conectarse con sus raíces colombianas, lo haría a través del kitesurfing, un deporte que le permitió reconectar con el mar, la libertad y su identidad. En ese camino, Patrick llevaba en su corazón un sueño muy claro: conocer a una colombiana, alguien con quien pudiera compartir su cultura, sus valores y ese anhelo profundo de volver a sus orígenes. Soñó con encontrarla en viajes lejanos, sin imaginar que Dios la pondría mucho más cerca de lo que jamás pensó. Al mismo tiempo, Jhoana llevaba en su corazón un anhelo muy especial. Después de más de diez años fuera de Colombia, deseaba compartir su vida con alguien que pudiera abrazar su familia, su cultura y sus raíces. Sin buscarlo activamente, confiando en el tiempo de Dios, ambos se encontraron en el lugar menos esperado. Hoy reconocemos con gratitud que Dios trabaja en caminos misteriosos, que muchas veces no entendemos, y que nos regala lo inimaginable, mucho más de lo que pedimos. Agradecemos profundamente haber sido puestos el uno en el camino del otro. Para Jhoana, ha sido una bendición encontrar una nueva familia en un país que no era el suyo y sentir el amor, el apoyo y el calor humano de la familia de Patrick. Para Patrick, ese sueño que llevó por tanto tiempo en su corazón se hizo realidad de una forma mucho más hermosa de lo que jamás imaginó. Nuestra historia está hecha de aventuras, viajes, risas compartidas y momentos de amor, pero sobre todo está cimentada en la fe. Creemos en Dios, compartimos nuestras creencias y confiamos en Su guía para caminar juntos. Sabemos que, con Su amor al centro, creceremos como pareja, nos apoyaremos en cada etapa de la vida y caminaremos de la mano siendo fieles a Él. Gracias a cada uno de ustedes por ser parte de nuestra historia. Su presencia, su cariño y el tiempo que han tomado para acompañarnos significan más de lo que las palabras pueden expresar. Nos llena el corazón compartir con ustedes el inicio de este nuevo capítulo de nuestras vidas y celebrar el amor que Dios nos regaló.

Our story began in the most unexpected way—dancing salsa in Katy, Texas. No plans, no expectations, simply letting ourselves be carried by something we both loved. Music and rhythm worked their magic, and in that space filled with joy and passion, we met for the first time, unaware that this moment would mark our lives forever. From that first encounter, one thing was clear: we shared an adventurous spirit and a deep cultural connection. There was a genuine curiosity about each other’s stories, our roots, and the way we each saw life. That desire to explore, to travel, and to grow together slowly brought us closer and closer. Who would have imagined that Patrick, in his search to reconnect with his Colombian roots, would do so through kitesurfing—a sport that allowed him to reconnect with the sea, freedom, and his identity. Along that journey, Patrick carried a very clear dream in his heart: to meet a Colombian woman with whom he could share his culture, his values, and that deep longing to return to his origins. He dreamed of finding her on faraway travels, never imagining that God would place her much closer than he ever expected. At the same time, Jhoana carried a very special desire in her heart. After more than ten years away from Colombia, she longed to share her life with someone who could embrace her family, her culture, and her roots. Without actively searching, trusting in God’s timing, we found each other in the least expected place. Today, we gratefully recognize that God works in mysterious ways—ways we often do not understand—and that He gifts us with the unimaginable, far more than we ever ask for. We are deeply thankful to have been placed in each other’s path. For Jhoana, it has been a blessing to find a new family in a country that was not her own and to feel the love, support, and warmth of Patrick’s family. For Patrick, the dream he carried in his heart for so long became a reality in a way far more beautiful than he ever imagined. Our story is made of adventures, travels, shared laughter, and moments of love—but above all, it is rooted in faith. We believe in God, we share our beliefs, and we trust His guidance as we walk this journey together. We know that with His love at the center, we will grow as a couple, support one another through every stage of life, and walk hand in hand, faithful to Him.
