Wedding Party

Cantor Nathan Roth

Officiant

Nate is one of Ilana’s many older cousins. Growing up, he was always a good sport about playing with Ilana and Daniel, even though they were probably really annoying. Now Nate lives in LA, which means that they get to see each other for holidays and the occasional Bills game. We are so happy to have him play such an important role in our special day!

Lauren Dahl

Maid of Honor

Lauren and Ilana have been friends since high school, where they enjoyed being silly in Spanish class and on the quad. Despite many years and a couple thousand miles, they’ve stayed in cahoots and have traveled around California together and even met up in Peru! Lauren has made the trek to Wisconsin so many times that she could probably direct you around Madison.

Marly Owens

Matron of Honor

Marly and Ilana found each other on Facebook when they were looking for college roommates freshman year and bonded over their love of the Lumineers. They lived together all through college, but were sadly separated when Marly moved to the West Coast. Luckily, Marly couldn’t stay away too long and now lives 1 block away from Ilana.

Katie Zuffoletti

Bridesmaid

Katie, Ilana, and Marly went on the same hiking trip the first month of college, and Katie quickly became the unofficial 3rd roommate. Katie convinced Ilana that mornings aren’t always terrible and taught her about midwestern culture. She tells great stories and makes a mean Greek salad.

Cassian Kruse

Bridesmaid

Cassie and Ilana met through their college dance company and became close friends when they decided to choreograph a dance together. They would always get caught up talking on the stairwell between their dorm rooms, and she ended up deciding to live with Marly, Katie, and Ilana their senior year, creating the perfect quad. She is an enthusiastic bartender known for the “Cassie pour.”

Alex Tomlinson

Bridesmaid

Alex and Ilana rode the same public bus to school, and then decided to go to the same small dance studio throughout high school. They thrived on giving the studio owner a little bit of sass and venting about the woes of high school. After college, the two of them got to regularly host each other in their respective cities; Alex with a dose of city life in Chicago and Ilana with skiing and biking in Madison.

Jason Foster

Best Man

Jason is Patrick's older brother and oldest friend. Some of Patrick's best memories from growing up in Orland Park involve playing music with Jason in the basement and carpooling to Carl Sandburg High School, and while college put some miles between them, the pair got to live somewhat close together again for Patrick's first 4.5 years in Madison since Jason and his family were only an hour away in Milwaukee. They love going to concerts together and commiserating about how terrible their favorite Chicago sports teams are.

Brian Foster

Best Man

Brian is Patrick's younger brother which makes him also a lifelong friend. As kids, they would always hang out building Legos and playing video games, and eventually they started going to lots of free movies together as both brothers had their own stints working at Marcus Theaters. Brian conveniently lives in Chicago so he and Patrick still get to hang out every time Patrick visits the city.

August Deatherage

Groomsman

Patrick met Augie the first week of college and they quickly bonded over a love of music and became good friends. They lived together the next 3 years at Purdue, and remained very close post college. Augie has visited Madison more than anyone, and he and Patrick have gone on several trips together including visits to Washington DC and Berlin.

Utkuhan Genç

Groomsman

Utku and Patrick met sophomore year of college when they were both supervisors for Purdue's new student orientation program, Boiler Gold Rush. Since they were both studying industrial engineering, they saw a lot of each other and became the best of frenemies. Utku taught Patrick how to cut an onion properly and would love to teach you too so make sure to ask him about it when you see him around wedding weekend.

Eric Stratman

Groomsman

Eric and Patrick started to run together in Madison in 2021 when Patrick slid into Eric's dm's after realizing they were neighbors who ran similar distances and paces at 6am during the week. They soon became good friends and had a lot of fun falling down on snowboards, attempting to make pottery, and playing frisbee on their ultimate frisbee summer league team. Since Eric recently moved to New York, Patrick has been trying to do these same activities with the house plant Gary that he adopted from Eric and has had mixed results.

Max Runningen

Groomsman

Max and Patrick met the first day of classes in college when they both went to Purdue Run Club's practice and Patrick asked to store his stuff in Max's locker. They would end up being friends throughout all of college, and post college became even closer. Patrick has gone on several camping trips with Max, and they've also run the Boston and Chicago Marathons together. However, their greatest accomplishment will always be winning the Purdue intramural ultimate frisbee championship with team Bojan Bogdanovic and forcing the Pacers legend to acknowledge them on Instagram.

Evan White

Groomsman

Evan and Patrick probably met at Purdue Run Club during freshman year of college, but they aren't really sure. They've just always been homies. Evan is a great friend to talk to about whatever is on your mind, and despite Evan living all the way out in Nashville, he and Patrick have seen a lot of each other the past few years through camping trips and visits to each other's cities. If you see Evan around wedding weekend (and he's so tall that you definitely will), ask him about the time he and Patrick almost died while camping at the Red River Gorge.
