Plan to arrive by 3:30. Arriving 20–30 minutes before the ceremony begins allows enough time to drive through the state park, find parking, and walk to the ceremony site. As you wait, enjoy the beautiful setting accompanied by live music from a string quartet.
Garden Party Chic (Cocktail Attire) – Embrace vibrant colors, playful textures, and bold patterns that shine against our lush forest backdrop, all with a touch of elegance!
Ladies, skip the stilettos! With grassy and dirt areas to navigate, we recommend chunky heels or stylish flats to keep you comfortable and steady. We’d hate for anyone to ruin their shoes—or twist an ankle!
Enter “Swift Creek Banquet Hall” into your GPS—this will lead you directly to the ceremony parking lot inside the park. Inform the park gate attendant that you are here for the wedding to avoid paying for parking. Follow the signs for Guest Parking, located just past the Vendor Parking area and banquet hall. After parking, there is a 3-5 minute walk to the ceremony field.
The reception location is wheelchair accessible, but take caution moving down into the ceremony space as the path is made up of gravel and grass.
Average temperatures in central Virginia will range from a high of 80F to a low of 60F. We will be outside in a largely shaded area for the ceremony and inside for the reception.
Please refrain from taking photos during the ceremony. After that, yes! We would love for you to take photos and share them with us.
Parking is covered! Please inform the park ranger at the front gate that you are heading to the Swift Creek Banquet Hall for a wedding and they will let you through and guide you in the right direction. If you would like to enter the park at any other point you will have to pay $7 for parking or have a park pass.
We love your little ones, but please refer to your invitation for details on who is invited. When you RSVP, we kindly ask that you only include those listed on your invitation. Thank you for understanding, and we can't wait to celebrate with you!
