Q&A

The Wedding Website of Patrick Northem and Alec Higgins
Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The Gardens are open to the public until 5:00 pm, and visitors may still be leaving the venue. Please feel free to arrive between 5:00 and 5:30 pm, when our ceremony will begin. Our ceremony will be held just inside the main entrance and will be easy to find.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

No. Please arrange for a rental car or rideshare both to and from the Gardens.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Yes, the North Carolina Botanical Gardens have ample on-site parking, including handicap accessible parking just outside the ceremony area. In the event you need to leave your car overnight, this is allowed, and you can return to your vehicle beginning at 9:00 am Sunday.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes. Please wear garden attire: sundresses, jumpsuits, linens, sport coats, and slacks are welcome for this event. Jeans, shorts, T-shirts, athletic wear, and flip-flops are a bit too casual.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

While we would love to meet your partners and friends, please refrain from inviting additional guests unless your RSVP includes a plus one, as we will not have additional space at the ceremony or dinner for them.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes! Please include your allergy or intolerance on your RSVP. We have made an effort to select menu choices that meet all dietary needs comfortably, but we may have missed yours.

Question

What time does the wedding end? Will there be an afterparty?

Answer

The reception will end at 10:00 pm. If you would like to stay with the grooms after the event, we will graciously accept your help cleaning up the venue! There will be no official afterparty, but we encourage guests to explore vibrant downtown Chapel Hill and Carrboro if they would like to continue the celebration.
