Aimee and Patrick met all the way back in Spring 2012, during their 1st year at The University of Virginia. Aimee had just joined UVA’s Washington Literary and Debate Society (aka “The Wash”), and decided the best way to introduce herself to Patrick was by shooting him with a nerf gun. After climbing a few trees, drinking a few milkshakes, and watching a few movies, the friendship became official. However, it would be another 3 years before romance blossomed. On February 21, 2015, Aimee and Patrick went on their first date to The Washington Society's annual formal banquet. Six months later, shortly after they both graduated from UVA, Aimee moved in with Patrick. From there, they enjoyed one more year in Charlottesville while Patrick completed a Master’s in Public Policy. Since August 2016, Aimee and Patrick have lived in Falls Church, Virginia, in the same condo that Patrick’s parents purchased shortly before Patrick was born! In April 2018, they adopted an adorable black and white, terrier-mix named Scarlett.
In March 2019, Patrick purchased a beautiful diamond ring from a Falls Church jeweler, booked a room at a cute bed and breakfast on The Charlottesville Downtown Mall, and planned to propose to Aimee following another Washington Society formal banquet. Unfortunately, not everything went according to plan! After several interruptions from friends, Patrick finally found his window of opportunity at 1 o'clock AM. Aimee was VERY surprised and VERY happy to say "yes"!
Patrick now works in Washington DC for The U.S. State Department's Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operations. Aimee began a career in Early Childhood Education, but in 2018 changed her course to nursing. She earned a BSN in August 2020 after completing a 12-month, accelerated program at George Mason University and now works at Capital Area Pediatrics.
