Question
What will the weather be like in October?
Answer
Central North Carolina can be a little unpredictable when it comes to the weather, but in October you can generally expect mild temperatures with sunny afternoons reaching into the 70s or 80s and lows at night usually in the 50s or 60s. Bringing a light sweater, shawl, jacket, or other type of cover up would be a good idea if you think you might get chilly later into the evening.

Is there a dress code?
Answer
Our dress code is semi-formal. Suits and gowns are welcome, and so are cocktail dresses.

When should I RSVP by?
Answer
If you are able to RSVP by September 1st, that would help us accommodate any dietary restrictions you may have. However, we have listed September 19th as the "official" RSVP date on our invites. If you use the RSVP function on this site, you'll be able to answer a few questions for us about food and music as well.

What will the venue be like? Is there anything else I should know?
Answer
The ceremony and cocktail hour sites will be held outdoors in open air. The reception space will be covered, though also al fresco. In the event we have a cooler day, there will be heaters set up around guests tables. Will there be transportation to and from the venue?
Answer
The Great Raleigh Trolley can pick you up from the Marriott in Raleigh-Durham Research Triangle Park and take you to our venue in Cedar Grove. They will also shuttle you back at the end of the night.

What time will I need to be at the pickup location?
Answer
Pickup will be at 3:30 p.m. in front of the Marriott in Raleigh-Durham Research Triangle Park (4700 Guardian Dr, Durham, NC 27703). See the "Travel" tab on this website for more details about transportation or the "Schedule" tab.

Will there be parking spaces at the venue?
Answer
For those of you driving to the venue, you may park in the painted spaces along the driveway at the farm. A parking attendant will be available to direct you. Make sure to put the address 1319 Carr Store Rd. Cedar Grove, NC 27231 (rather than just "Windy Hill Farm") into your GPS so you don't get lost; funny enough, there is another place with the same name not too far away.

If I drive to the venue, can I leave my car there overnight?
Answer
Yes! If you drive to the venue and are unable to drive back or would rather not drive back, please feel free to leave your car overnight. You are more than welcome to use our transportation. You can pick up your car the following day. This is allowed and recommended by Windy Hill.

Cell service at the farm can be limited, so Uber and Lyft may be difficult options. If you are trying to return to an Airbnb, rental, or other location, we suggest you use our transportation back to Durham. Once off the farm, Uber and Lyft will be readily accessible again and there will be many cars available.
