Lucca’s historic city walls form a 3-mile loop that completely encircles the city that you can walk or rent a bike around. The path is also lined with a cafè, gelato carts, and water fountains, and is a wonderful way to get bird’s-eye views over Lucca’s rooftops and beyond to the surrounding hills. Since Lucca is a big biking town, there are numerous shops throughout the historic Cori center where you can rent a bike for a few euros.
A long climb up that is worth it for a breathtaking view of Lucca!
One of our favorite restaurants in the heart of Lucca! We recommend putting in a reservation to dine here. The gnocchi was incredible (surely several of you have heard Patricia rave about it) and the tiramisu was absolute perfection. The food paired along with dining outside in the Piazza del Anfiteatro made the evening an unforgettable one.
We cannot wait to go here again for gelato the next time we are back in Lucca! And, we might be a little extra partial to the place since it shares the same nickname as one of our pups. ;)
If you decide to make a reservation here, we recommend dining inside due to the elegant ambience filled with a vast array of wine bottles on display. The meals were delicious and their pistachio tiramisu will have us coming back again one day soon.
We highly recommend stopping by here one afternoon for spritzes and arancini!
We did not have a chance to visit here on our last trip but it came highly recommended as a stylish bistro offering evolving, high-quality cuisine in a trendy, intimate alley setting inside Lucca's walls.
