To get to the first date and first time we met, we need to briefly start at the beginning- which was meeting on the dating app Bumble, in late September 2017. Patricia was enjoying a movie in Washington Park in OTR when her friend stopped paying attention and was distracted by her phone- looking at guys on Bumble. Begrudgingly, Patricia decided right then and there to make a Bumble account of her own. She has always believed she would meet her person, well....in person, somewhere- but life had other plans. Little did she know, that she and Garrison would match on the app a few days later. She and Garrison started talking through messaging each other- talking about anything but surface level things- which is what drew them both closer to each other. If you hear Garrison tell the story- the only reason Patricia decided to give him a chance was due to one photo on his Bumble profile that showed him and his dad standing on a golfing green...and, he wasn't completely wrong! Finally, the proposal of meeting up in person came up and their first date was made. Being that Garrison clearly had an interest in golf, and Patricia had decided the next person she dated must enjoy the game, having their first date at Top Golf was decided. They had been talking to each other for almost a solid month and while this was Patricia's first time ever taking a chance on someone she met online, she had decided Garrison seemed very genuine and was a good person- so when he asked what her address was, that he wanted to come pick her up- she gave it to him, why not? Well, one of her best friends at the time told her she was crazy, that he could be a murderer and now he had her address!! He said tell him anything you need to to get out of him picking you up- drive yourself. So, I texted Garrison and told him a little lie, about how my mom's car broke down and I had to help her and would just meet him at Top Golf. Garrison, being the intuitive person he is, thought she was having second thoughts and had made up a last minute lie, but decided to go to Top Golf and see if she showed. (This was the beginning of realizing that Patricia is incapable of lying- not a bad thing if you ask us!) She did drive to Top Golf that night and when the date started, it was clear that the natural flow of conversation they had online carried over into the real world. That first date, Patricia GREATLY impressed Garrison with her golfing capabilities and Garrison used his universal charm on the employee to give them free play time. They ended up staying until Top Golf closed and considered going elsewhere to continue, but there was nothing open near by. From that night, the next several dates they went on continued with that trend and they closed every restaurant, bar, and anything else they went to that had an official closing time because they could not get enough of each other. Neither of them looked back once their romance started and it has only continued to bloom since with the many ups and downs of life, lots of adventures and new experiences and this is the way they plan to continue life- together, through the ups and downs and many many adventures to come. We have invited each of you to celebrate the forever joining of our love in an intimate ceremony in Ault Park, in accordance with our love for nature, followed by a lavish dinner at The Precinct with you, our closest friends and family.
