Meet Ashley – Maid of Honor Ashley has been Patrice’s best friend since high school (The Hudson School—9th grade for Patrice, 10th grade for Ashley), and their bond is truly unshakable. They’ve been through everything together, so much so that they even have matching tattoos to prove it! Ashley is also godmother to Patrice’s son, Christopher, which makes her not just a best friend, but chosen family. Their shared passions, music, food, wine, and dogs, have made for countless adventures and memories over the years. Simply put, there’s nothing Patrice does in life that Ashley isn’t a part of, and the wedding is no exception. As Maid of Honor, she’s standing by Patrice’s side just like she always has. Through every chapter of Patrice’s life, Ashley has been there, steady, loyal, and full of love. She’s seen every version of Patrice, cheered her through every milestone, and reminded her what true friendship looks like. Having her as Maid of Honor is simply a reflection of what she’s always been: family.

Meet Marcel “Doc” Coleman – Best Man Marcel “Doc” Coleman is a Physical Therapist based in Charlotte, NC, and one of Lorwin’s closest friends. The two met years ago at Rutgers University, where their friendship began and quickly grew into a lifelong brotherhood. Over the years, Marcel and Lorwin have shared countless memories, from trips to Las Vegas and cheering at RU sporting events to running 5Ks and 10Ks together. Marcel admires Lorwin’s sense of humor and his relentless drive for success, qualities that have inspired him since their college days. Being chosen as Lorwin’s Best Man is both an honor and a joy for Marcel, and he’s ready to make sure this celebration is as beautiful, fun, and unforgettable as the friendship that brought them here.

Meet Keptah – Matron of Honor Some people come into your life and it feels like they were always meant to be there, Keptah is one of those people for Patrice. The two met during their doctoral program and have been thick as thieves ever since. With their shared “Big Aries energy,” they became instant reflections of each other, often thinking alike, moving alike, and laughing at the same things. Their bond is rooted in a deep love of God and family, making their friendship sacred and unshakable. By chance, and maybe by fate, they became pregnant just a month apart, sharing every milestone of their belly bump journeys together, even taking a bestie babymoon side by side. Keptah is also the proud godmother to Chase, showing just how deeply her life is interwoven with Patrice and Lorwin’s family. More than a friend, she’s a true sister and spirit animal. As Matron of Honor, she brings not only love and loyalty, but also that unstoppable Aries fire, double the Aries, double the fun!

Meet Jason “J.Dot” Albert – Groomsman Jason “J.Dot” Albert is an IT Operations Manager based in Knightdale, NC, and also co-owns a bakery with his wife, Tracy. He’s been part of Lorwin’s circle for over 20 years, a friendship that began back in their Rutgers days alongside Doc. Over the years, Jason and Lorwin have shared countless experiences, vacations, marathons, and milestone moments that have shaped both of their lives. Jason admires Lorwin’s unmatched energy, humor, and the way he brings love and laughter to everyone around him. Now, he’s thrilled to see Lorwin find a partner in Patrice who matches him stride for stride. It’s an honor for Jason to stand beside his friend as he enters this new chapter, celebrating a love story that’s as genuine as the bond they’ve shared for decades.

Meet Amir – Groomsman Amir and Lorwin’s friendship goes all the way back to their middle and high school days, where they first connected through mutual friends. Their bond grew even stronger when they became college roommates, sharing late-night talks, laughs, and plenty of memories that shaped who they are today. Through the years, they’ve stayed close celebrating milestones in different cities, supporting each other through career moves, and growing together as fathers. Amir now lives in Newark, NJ, where he works as a Business Analyst focused on nonprofits and economic development. Known for his loyalty, calm energy, and easygoing nature, Amir has been a steady presence in Lorwin’s life for decades. From dorm rooms to dad life, he’s been part of every chapter and it’s only right that he’s standing by Lorwin’s side for this one.

Meet Heather – Bridesmaid Heather and Patrice’s friendship began freshman year at Rutgers, where they lived on the same floor, and they’ve been “Day 1 RU sisters” ever since (RU RAH RAH!). To this day, Heather still calls Patrice by her very first Twitter handle, TriceTrice, a nickname that stuck and always makes them laugh. Hailing from Essex County, Heather has become family in every way. She is an infinitely proud and grateful God mommy to Chase, and you can always count on her to be happy to eat whatever leftovers Patrice and her boys don’t finish. More than anything, she’s their biggest cheerleader, always rooting for Trice, L., Chris, and Chase in everything life brings their way. Through every milestone and memory, Heather has been a constant source of love and laughter. She’s the friend who shows up, the one who celebrates every win, and the one who always reminds Patrice how far she’s come. Having her as a bridesmaid is just another moment in a friendship that’s been full of heart since day one.

Though they grew up together, their bond truly deepened in adulthood, sharing countless experiences from late nights exploring New York City to traveling abroad and creating memories that span continents. Now living in New York, NY with his fiancée, Clarence works as a Data Architect and Tech Entrepreneur. His easygoing nature, grounded wisdom, and unwavering support have made him not just family, but a true brother in every sense. From childhood hangouts to adventures around the world, Clarence has always been part of Lorwin’s story, family by blood, brother by choice. Clarence is also known for bringing balance wherever he goes—equal parts thoughtful and hilarious, dependable and spontaneous. He’s the friend who will offer a deep conversation one moment and have everyone doubled over in laughter the next. His presence in Lorwin and Patrice’s wedding is a reflection of years of shared history, growth, and genuine connection. And in so many ways, she has continued to be that anchor in Patrice’s life: the steady force who grounds her, the one who prays with her, and the strength she leans on when the finish line feels far away. Through every lap of life’s journey, Laide has been there, sometimes running stride for stride, sometimes waiting at the end to carry Patrice through. Meet Abdul – Groomsman Abdul and Lorwin first crossed paths at the local gym, where a few friendly games of basketball through mutual friends quickly turned into a real friendship. What started on the court grew into a deep bond built on shared values around life, career, and family. Over the years, that connection has only strengthened, spending time together from NYC to DC, sharing countless conversations, and talking almost every week. Their friendship has grown so close that Abdul’s family feels like an extension of Lorwin’s, and vice versa. Now living in Baltimore and working in logistics operations, Abdul is known for his loyalty, grounded nature, and dependability. More than just a friend, he’s become family, and there’s no one Lorwin would rather have by his side for the big day.

Like Patrice, Alexia is proudly Trinidadian, and she carries that same fiery island spirit that makes their bond unshakable. She’s the one who can light up any room with her singing voice, push through challenges with her gym dedication, and most importantly, be the unwavering support and voice of reason whenever Patrice needs her most. No matter the distance, the years, or even being in different sororities, nothing has ever changed the fact that Alexia is family. She has always had Patrice’s back, and standing as her bridesmaid is just another beautiful reminder of the sisterhood they’ve built over decades.

Meet Kirk – Groomsman Kirk and Lorwin share a lifelong friendship rooted in faith, family, and loyalty. Growing up together and attending the same church, their families became so close that Kirk’s father is godfather to Lorwin’s younger brother, a bond that shows just how deeply their lives have been intertwined from the start. No matter where life has taken them, Kirk and Lorwin have always found their way back to each other, keeping their connection strong through every season of life. Today, Kirk is an architect based in Plainfield, NJ, where he lives with his wife and their four beautiful children. From childhood pews to the wedding aisle, Kirk has always been there, and it’s only fitting that he stands beside Lorwin once again as he begins this next chapter.

A loving, always-smiling toddler, Chase keeps everyone on their toes with his sharp mind, playful spirit, and endless energy, living up to his name by always running! With Daddy’s entire face and Mommy’s warm, loving heart, Chase is the perfect blend of both Patrice and Lorwin. More than just the ring bearer, he’s the purest example of their love in motion.

Meet Nova- Flower Girl Nova is an intelligent, intuitive, and exceptionally empathic 3-year-old. She loves playing doctor, taking care of her dolls, books, doing art projects, and traveling on airplanes. Nova is also fluent in Spanish and English. She loves Disney princesses, ballerinas, and dancing and singing. Nova will not leave the house without a full ball gown or ballerina tutu with a crown. Nova is excited to be a flower girl for her uncle's wedding.

Meet Devlynn - Flower Girl Devlynn is a vibrant and curious 2.5-year-old with a heart full of joy. She loves books, exploring nature, dancing (especially jumping!) and spending time with her family and friends. Devlynn has a remarkable memory, a growing talent for French and a sense of humor that brings smiles to everyone around her. She adores Minnie Mouse, Elmo, Grover, and unicorns, and brightens your day with her infectious smile. Devlynn is thrilled to be part of this special day and to sprinkle a little extra magic down the aisle!
