We first met... the first week of the first year of medical school Our first date was... going to the tattoo parlor and then for tacos in Ybor. It started pouring and we had to run for cover into this tiny little taco shop. The first time he met her family was... when we had to evacuate Tampa due to Hurricane Irma and went to stay with them in Orlando only for Orlando to then be hit worse. The first time she met his family was... when they flew down from Pennsylvania to visit St. Pete beach. Our first trip together was... the road trip we took from Tampa to Atlanta to Nashville to Memphis to New Orleans and then back to Tampa. FYI this is A LOT of time together in the car and ONE of us decided to nap for the entire last leg instead of splitting the driving (cough cough, Rachel) Our favorite trip together was.... our trip to Barcelona, Madrid, and Lisbon after taking the first round of our board exams. Our hands-down favorite moment from this trip was when we accidentally stranded ourselves in downtown Lisbon at 2 AM. We had no way to get home due to a Benfica game that night and ended up having to rent Uber bikes and bike 10 miles back to the hotel. (Rachel did this in her very practical heels she had worn for the evening). The first gift he bought her was.... a clap-on clap-off light switch. This speaks for itself and is still arguably the best gift given by either of us to date. His favorite gift she got him was... when she surprised him with tickets to Star Wars Galaxy's Edge for his birthday Our favorite quarantine activity is... watching Jeopardy re-runs and competing for who can get more points. Pat wins every time so there really is no competition here.
