Madi and Mike (M&M) met in August of 2021 in Hays through an online dating app--if you know, you know. Mike used the typical line of "I'm not good at checking this app--here's my Snapchat" to initiate the "talking stage" as the kids call it nowadays. Neither were looking for anything serious but soon discovered how much they had in common and how easy it was spending time together. Madi knew right away she was falling hard for the tall, dark, and goofy guy she was spending all her free time with. On December 12, 2021, Madi swallowed the lump in her throat to ask Mike if he would be her boyfriend. Mike was planning to move to California the following May and they both knew that. He reminded her and she said, "Let's give it a try until then." His final response to her important question was, "I guess so." Mike didn't end up moving to California the following May. Because of Madi? She likes to think so. ;) In April of 2023, the two moved in together with their beloved fur babies--Ash (Mike's dog) and Olive (Madi's cat). Later that year in December, they decided to add another to the mix and brought home a second cat, Otis. All three keep M&M on their toes and their vacuum running weekly. They wouldn't change it for the world! Christmas morning of 2024, right before they were supposed to go to Madi's parents' house for breakfast, Mike got down on one knee at home as it was time for his important question. Madi was in the back bedroom finishing getting ready and Mike called from the living room, "I think Santa came by!" Madi, confused and slightly irritated because they were running late, came around the corner to find Mike with the ring she had picked out a few months prior. She was absolutely shocked as Mike had convinced her for weeks that it wasn't ready. He proposed his hand in marriage and she responded with, "You have it?!?" They'll work on their responses to important questions as they grow old together.
