Having grown up in the same town and attending the same high school, we have actually known each other for more than 10 years. Although it wasn't until winter break from college in 2014/2015 that we reconnected. We went on an ice skating date, and then spent New Year's Eve together at Dom's friend's party (thanks for the invite Mikey!). After that, we knew we wanted to continue dating, and try to make it work while going to different schools over 400 miles apart. For the next 4 years, we made long drives, booked flights to see each other, and talked every single day. Through graduation, new jobs, and moving to new cities, we supported each other through it all, until we both finally made our way back home to New Jersey in 2019. We moved in to our first apartment in Cranford, moved again to Garwood, and even adopted our fur-baby, Piper! And now we are so excited to tie the knot surrounded by our closest friends and family, just about 8 years after our very first date.

Unbeknownst to Alyssa, Dom had planned a surprise trip to Greenport, New York for 4th of July. We got in the car on Friday afternoon, with Alyssa still in the dark about where we were headed. After 2.5 hours in the car, we ended up in our favorite town for a weekend of wineries in the North Fork of Long Island. After dinner on Saturday evening, the rain finally cleared up enough for a stroll along the water. As we admired the yachts docked in the harbor, Dom got down on one knee and popped the question. A perfect backdrop on a perfect weekend to start our forever. And we are even more excited to get married in the same area, surrounded by friends and family.
