Question

What does Enchanted Masquerade mean?

Answer

This means that we are having a formal/black-tie optional (see FAQ about 'Formal Attire') event that will resemble an enchanted forest. We wanted to add a little fun/flair to the theme with the masquerade. Hayden's family is from Louisiana and I love a good theme party!

Question

What does 'Formal Attire' mean exactly?

Answer

Typically, a formal (black tie optional) wedding means that gentlemen wear a tuxedo [or suit] and ladies wear a formal gown, traditional cocktail dress, or even a dressy pantsuit. It is better to err on the side of caution and be overdressed rather than underdressed. There aren't many opportunities to get fancy and dress up the older we get. We want this to be fun and ask that you lean into that idea. This shouldn't be stressful or burdensome. To help, we added some notes below! Formal Attire for the Ladies: The sparklier the better! - Long, floor length gown/dress/skirt - Cocktail/midi dress/skirt - Nice pant suit - No blue denim - No short skirts/dresses Formal Attire for the Gentleman: - Dress shirt, jacket, slacks or Black denim **No blue jeans - if you prefer denim it should be black. **If you don't have a suit jacket - you can wear slacks, button down and a tie! - Tie is optional - No polo shirts (if at all possible)

Question

Is there a color scheme?

Answer

We would ask that our guests wear whatever color they want/feel comfortable in - let your uniqueness shine! Many people have asked me about what color they should wear because its a formal wedding. To give you some ideas, I have listed color recommendations for the ladies and gentlemen. Please do not stress over this - we are simply happy to celebrate with you all! **Due to family photos, etc. we ask that you try NOT to wear the same colors as the wedding party or immediate family. These colors are listed below. WEDDING PARTY: These are the colors the wedding party will be wearing. Try to avoid these colors. - Dark/Hunter Green - Gold - Champagne IMMEDIATE FAMILY: These are the colors that our immediate family will be wearing. Try to avoid these colors. - Gold - Champagne RECOMMENDED COLORS: Ladies - Think whimsical, enchanted, moody colors. - Jewel Tones (not emerald) ex. Amethyst, Sapphire, Ruby, Turquoise - Black - Deep/Cool Colors ex. Maroon, Magenta, Navy, Sage/Olive Green - Metallic (not gold/champagne) ex. Silver, Copper/Rose Gold - Warm/Fall/Autumn Colors ex. Burnt/Rust Orange, Mustard Yellow, Dusty Pink/Mauve Gentlemen: - Black - Navy - Grey/Charcoal - Tan/Beige

Question

Do I have to bring a masquerade mask?

Answer

We would appreciate if everyone participated in the fun. Typically, masquerade masks match your attire - its way more fun this way. This is why we ask that you bring your own mask. We will have some extras for those that forget.

Question

Where do I get a masquerade mask?

Answer

I highly recommend purchasing your mask on Amazon or Etsy. Check out the 'MASK RECOMMENDATIONS' section of the wedding website to view the Amazon lists. **If you have questions or need help ordering a mask please let Dani or Lisa know.

Question

Do you have examples of the type of masquerade masks we should bring? (Do's and Don'ts)
