Haldi (Turmeric) or Pithi ceremony is a pre-wedding ceremony that involves applying turmeric and aloe vera paste to the bride and the groom. The significance of this ceremony is deeply rooted in the ancient Indian culture where turmeric is considered auspicious given its known antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory properties.
