Travel Note
In what will someday be a hilarious tale to tell, William was recently denied entry to France on a planning trip he and Parker took to finalize wedding details. For any travel from the U.S. to France, your passport must remain valid for AT LEAST 90 days beyond the dates of your travel. For our wedding, this means that your passport must be valid through AT LEAST May 2023. PLEASE check your passports prior to travel as to avoid the same scenario William found himself in!
Travel Note
Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport and Paris Orly Airport are the two best options for flights. Depending on where you are flying from, one may be cheaper than the other, but both offer flexible and intuitive transport into the city. Flights are open to book 12 months in advance! We recommend booking earlier rather than later and purchasing trip insurance as we are still impacted by COVID-19. We are flying American, but depending on where you're flying from, airlines such as Delta, Air France, British Airways, and United all have good options as well.
Train
If flying into Paris, the easiest way to get closer to the venue is by train. From any Parisian train station, there are several trains per day from Paris to either Blois or Orleans. Both train stops are roughly 30-45 minutes from the venue, but as most guests will be staying in either Blois or Orleans, these two stops are the most convenient for your stay.
Rental Car
For those traveling directly to Paris, the venue is only 2h by car from Paris Charles de Gualle. Many American rental car companies operate internationally so you will remain familiar with their services. The process is quite similar to that in the U.S., but please remember that most French cars have manual transmissions! As such, it's best to reserve your car earlier to ensure availability of automatic transmission vehicles in the size you may need.
Hotel
La Maison TATIN in Lamotte-Beuvron, in the Loir-et-Cher department, is located opposite the SNCF railway station and ready to receive you upon your arrival. This 19th century hotel was the birthplace of the tarte Tatin, the famous and delicious dessert named after the sisters who created it back in the days when they owned the establishment. Today, the hotel offers a complete and high-quality service with its 16 rooms, restaurant, bar and tasting room, not forgetting a SPA area of more than 250 m² that was built in 2020. It is a culturally fascinating place that will appeal to lovers of history, architecture, and savoir-vivre. What’s more, it will satisfy your taste buds with its contemporary and entirely homemade cuisine based on local and seasonal produce.
House Or Rental
Airbnb is also a great resource for lodging. Many of the homes in the area are historic and have their own charm to add!
