It was a cold January morning in Bowling Green, Ohio when an aviation student and an accounting student sat in one of the only classes their majors shared: Introduction to Information Systems. We knew of each other through a mutual acquaintance, but we had never really interacted otherwise. As I approached the professor's desk with a question, in line with half a dozen other students, it 'just so happened' that Parker appeared in line behind me. "Was that you playing the piano in the dorm the other day?" he asked. "Oh it could've been, yeah," I smiled back. "Well it was gorgeous," he replied - and I was surprised by the butterflies that were suddenly fluttering in my stomach. I now know that Parker had never had a question to ask the professor that day, nor was it coincidence the way he perfectly timed his exit from class each day to walk with me to my job at the business building. This 'classmate' of mine turned into a friend; before I knew it he was asking me out on a date; and to my even greater surprise, suddenly I was on the phone with my mom, telling her about this cute boy I met and how he was pulling me closer to Jesus. On our first spring break in March of 2023, Parker was driving four hours round-trip to meet my mom in Cincinnati so he could ask me to be his girlfriend. On our third spring break in March of 2025, Parker was kneeling on the sand in Panama City Beach, asking me to be his wife.
