Question

Do we need passports?

Answer

YES!!! PLEASE DO NOT FORGET TO CHECK YOUR PASSPORTS. PLEASE APPLY ASAP FOR PASSPORTS IF YOU ARE OBTAINING A NEW ONE. Current processing times are eight to eleven weeks (or longer); therefore, get the process started immediately to be safe. If you do have a passport that is expiring within six months of travel date, please contact the airline(s) you will be flying on to ensure that they will let you board the plane as the United States does have a six months validity rule for passports.

Question

What are Covid requirements to travel to Mexico?

Answer

At present, to enter Mexico, no proof of vaccination or negative Covid test is required. You will simply attest yes or no to several questions. As of June 10th, 2022; you are no longer required to have a negative Covid test to enter the United States. You are not required to be vaccinated if you are a US Citizen to enter the USA from Mexico. We will continue to monitor the requirements and update this section accordingly. Covid testing will still be offered at the hotel for anyone who falls ill and would like to be tested. Masks are recommended but not required at hotel and on resort. We will continue to monitor all local, state and country regulations and update them here if need be.

Please note: at each event, there will be hosted food and drinks but we want everybody to be able to enjoy the resort restaurants as well so please be sure to make reservations at check in (or prior) as there are thirteen restaurants and bars to chose from. PLEASE NOTE: it is imperative to respect the rules and requirements of the resorts restaurants and make reservations rather then walking up as they will need to allot for servicing and food needs accordingly. Non motorized water and beach activities are also included in this rate plan. Fitness and yoga are also included. More information about this will be given to you at check in or you can visit the hotel website. https://www.hilton.com/en/hotels/cunhihh-hilton-tulum-riviera-maya-all-inclusive-resort/

Question

How much money should we bring?

Answer

It is important to remember that all of the amazing workers at the hotel thrive off of tips and friendly faces. Please be sure to tip accordingly for any services rendered, especially when food and drinks are ordered. Standard tips are $2-$5. The hotel has ATM’s on property as well as offer cash outs at the front desk but there is a 10% service charge for this. The ATM will also have around a $5-$10 transaction/service fee so it is best to have an ample amount of cash on hand upon arrival. Each room is equipped with a safe for safe keeping of cash and valuables during your stay.

Question

What attire to wear?

Answer

We have listed attire/dress code for each event on invite and website schedule but above all, we want you to be comfortable. Please do not feel obligated to wear Indian attire as it is NOT mandatory. Indian Semi Formal and Indian Formal are nothing different then what you would wear to a “American” wedding. Again, it is not required and/or mandatory to wear Indian clothes. A lot will occur on the beach so wear shoes accordingly. The resort is fairly spread out as well so there will be a lot of walking. Golf carts will be provided for anyone who is unable to walk. The resort also has complimentary bikes for guests to use on property.

Question

Where can we buy or rent Indian outfits?

Answer

Please note that Indian outfits are not cheap; therefore, consider renting an outfit or two if you would like to wear one. Again, by no means is this mandatory (even if attire states). If you do want to wear Indian clothes, choose a lengha, Anarkali our any type of “suit.” If you do opt for a Saree, chose one with a pre stitched blouse and petticoat with standard sizing. Below are websites for renting: - Search “Ready to Ship” which will have standard sizing with fastest shipping times. Please give yourself enough time to order outfits as standard shipping times are usually six to eight weeks. https://www.almaripret.com (use #wediditourway for a 10% discount at checkout) https://preserve.rent https://glamourental.com https://www.lukhstudio.com https://allborrow.com https://www.aachho.com If you would like to purchase anything, the below websites are great: https://www.panashindia.com https://m.mirraw.com/women https://www.lashkaraa.com https://www.houseofindya.com If you are looking for something more high end, the following websites are great: https://www.azafashions.com https://www.kalkifashion.com https://riyacollective.com http://asos.com **Etsy and eBay also have great options. Simply type in Indian wedding guest outfits and you will get a good selection. Please be aware of shipping times on all items ordered as most things take a long time**

Question

What type of clothing should you purchase or rent?

Answer

Your best bet is cotton, chiffon, organza and silk. Heavily ornate clothing will cause itching as the material is always delicate and thread work will poke through. PLEASE also verify measurements required for any outfits purchased or ordered for rent as any misstep in this area will cause for a VERY uncomfortable experience.

Question

What is considered casual for All White Holi On The Beach.

Answer

You can wear anything WHITE to this event. Yes, you can even wear a swimsuit!! Remember, there will be lots of colored powder everywhere and there is a potential for clothes to get ruined so keep that in mind while choosing. Your best bet is to wear something that you are okay with throwing away or “leaving” there.

Question

What are the beaches like?

Answer

The hotel is located within inches of the beach/ocean; however, it is important to know that the hotel is also located in a protected natural reef and rainforest. Because of this, the natural coral and reef tend to break off depending on the intensity of the waves and the shards might come onto the sand which can make the sand rough at times. It is advised to bring water shoes to wear on the beach and also in the water.

Question

Are there local hair and makeup services?

Answer

If anyone would like to have their hair or makeup done, please contact Ana at the website listed below and mention Parinda and Gary wedding at Hilton Tulum and our dates (Dec 1-3). They will assist you in setting this up and you will be able to pay them directly for any services rendered. https://stylingtrio.com

Question

What will the weather be like this time of year?

Answer

December in Tulum is BEAUTIFUL. Temperatures are between 75 and 83 degrees. There will be lots of humidity (70%-80%). The nights get a little cool and breezy as the temperatures drops to 65-68 degrees. There will be a cool ocean breeze throughout the day and night as the resort is located within inches of the ocean. There should not be any rain but it is Mexico so plan accordingly. Be sure to bring lots of sunscreen for the pool and beach and a light jacket or sweater for the evenings.

Question

Are there a lot of mosquitos?

Answer

In December, the mosquitos are not as prominent as warmer months but it is important to remember that they are there. The hotel is located in a tropical rainforest but the area is treated multiple times a day to keep the little creatures at bay. Although bug spray will be provided by hotel, please bring the STRONG bug spray from USA as well as Benadryl and calamine lotion just in case you become their target.

Question

Do we need a converter for phone chargers etc…

Answer

No, the hotel has the same voltage plugs that we use here in America. For all of our England and India family, the voltage for Mexico is 127v and you will need a type A or type B converter.

Question

What if we forget something?

Answer

Please do your best to try and remember to bring everything you’ll need while traveling to Mexico. Currently, there are no “target style” shops close by; and you will have to take a taxi or Uber into town which is 15 minutes away. The resort will have gift shops that carry sundries and basic essentials.

Question

What if the room type we want to book is not available.

Answer

We have done our best to allot a significant amount of rooms for each room type; however, certain rooms types might be getting reserved quicker then others. If you do not see the room type that you would like to reserve as well as group rate, please reach out to Parinda or her parents immediately and she will ensure more of a specific room type is opened up.

Question

Spa Services

Answer

There is an incredible spa on site at the hotel/resort. If you would like any spa services, please pre book these before arrival to ensure availability. You can contact the hotel directly and they will transfer you to the spa. They will also email you a list of spa services upon request.
