Karisma and Parin met in the most traditional and underrated way you could think of. You guessed it-a dating app. While Karisma was living in Chicago for optometry school rotations, she decided to give the dating apps a try and see if anyone caught her attention. Little did she know that she came across her perfect match not once, not twice, but THREE times on 3 different dating apps before she finally gave him a shot. When they finally matched for the 3rd time on Hinge, Parin didn't want to waste any time and asked her on a date right away. To keep it classy, Parin had asked her to meet for drinks at Izikaya (an underground Japanese whiskey bar) and of course for the punctual person he is, arrived 10 minutes late. Normally that would have bothered Karisma, but his charm and good looks made her forget all about that. As for what happens next, you're about to witness it in Lisbon, Portugal!

As Karisma and Parin's three year anniversary was approaching, the hope of the long awaited proposal was rising! Since their first date, Karisma has always said that she hoped that her proposal would be outside of Chicago. So naturally, when Parin spontaneously booked a flight to Lisbon, Portugal, Karisma thought it was finally happening! However, they were back in Chicago a few weeks later with no ring. A few weeks later, Parin surprised Karisma with a getaway to Traverse City for their three year anniversary but after what happened in Portugal, she didn't think anything of it. On their drive up, Karisma, being the organized person she is, started planning their itinerary and making reservations. She found that Chateau Chantal was the best vineyard to visit since it was known for their wine and views (so much so that their entire instagram page was filled with proposal pictures). Karisma jokingly told Parin that if he decides to propose it should be there and went on to making early morning reservations. While Karisma went on thinking she was planning everything, little did she know that Parin knew her all too well and had a surprise photographer already scheduled to arrive at that same vineyard during the time she made reservations.  Once they got there, Parin had insisted that they go for a walk on the trail through the vineyard (where the photographer was hiding and waiting for them) and then come back for a glass of wine. Karisma found that to be strange and insisted that they get a glass of wine first and take it on the trail instead because that seemed more logical. When they finally set off on their walk, Karisma stopped Parin and asked for his jacket so she could take a picture of him. Parin completely froze as the ring was in jacket and they weren't at the spot the photographer asked them to be at yet. He refused to give the jacket and then thought that she knew what was happening after that. In sheer panic, he took the ring out of his jacket, threw the jacket to the floor, and got on his knees to ask the words she's been dying to hear - will you marry me? She was shocked after what just happened with his jacket but couldn't have been happier and said yes of course.
