Carroll Hall is a quiet retreat among plant life, birds, insects, and urban wildlife. Carroll Hall exists on Lenape land. The site has been farmland, dairy production, ice cream factory, cigar rolling factory and most recently, a refrigerated dairy warehouse in this district of light industry. Elements of recent iterations are used in the current construction: walls of ceramic, brick and rubble, and most of the interior wood is reclaimed from the site. It was designed to inspire discovery, wonder, and the unexpected, which are strongly represented in the garden and spaces.
Carroll Hall is accessible via public transportation by using the Morgan Av stop on the L line of the New York City subway. We also recommend using rideshare apps such as Uber or Lyft, or a yellow cab.
There are limited hotels near Carroll Hall. We recommend staying in Downton Brooklyn, Queens, or Manhattan. Please reach out to Inae and Paras if you have questions on particular areas of the city.
Inae and Paras will be waring a mix of Indian, Korean, and western attire throughout the evening. You are welcome to wear what makes you feel comfortable and expresses joy. For western attire, we recommend business casual (slacks, a dress shirt, and a jacket for men and a cocktail dress for women). Please keep in mind that New York summers can be hot and humid, and part of the evening will take place outside.
Dinner will feature a buffet-style menu of Korean and Indian cuisine. We will have plenty of vegetarian options available. Please reach out to Inae and Paras if you have any dietary concerns. Light fare will be available during the cocktail hour and reception.
Yes! Please let Inae and Paras know if you have any special requests for the DJ (or go up and ask them yourself!) And share your favorite songs and playlists with us for inspiration.
