FAQs

Question

Do I need a passport to attend?

Answer

YES! A passport is required. Current passport processing time up to 12 weeks. If you do not have a passport yet, this doesn’t allow much time for a hiccup. We strongly recommend that you get your passport applications submitted NOW! If you have a passport, check your expiration date. Costa Rica only asks that your passport be valid for the length of stay in Costa Rica. However, we encourage you to consult with the airline to ensure they don't have their own passport validity requirements. We recommend you renew your passport if it's going to expire 6 months after our wedding - May 2024.

Question

What is a room block?

Answer

This means that Michelle & Javier have paid a deposit to pre-reserve rooms for your group. The couple has signed a contract with the resort and has committed to a minimum number of rooms. Only rooms booked with TRAVSPOT Travel Agency count toward this contract. We have reserved a couple different room types for you to choose from. You MUST reserve within the room block to attend the wedding. This includes a minimum 5-night stay under one of the room types in our room block.

Question

What should I pack for the resort?

Answer

Costa Rica is close to the equator so bring lots of sunscreen. 60 SPF or higher is recommended. Other helpful items will be: hats, bug spray, an insulated cup for drinks by the pool, aloe vera. Motion sickness pills and dramamine for anyone who might need it. No need to bring a plug adapter as the rooms have standard US outlets. TIP: Check-in is usually at 3PM, so if you arrive early we recommend having your swim suits and resort wear easily accessible so you can enjoy the resort while you wait for your room to be ready.
